You would not enter into the career of being a pilot for money. The pay is so low, and the cost of training so high, you'll have to be working your ass off for 15 years to break even the cost and acquire the necessary skills. I'm a pilot myself (not commercial), and the only other pilots that are pursuing a career in the airline industry love flying and not because they hope to earn huge revenues. Though, down the road, if you stick with flying and with an airline company, you will make some considerable money.

I understand, but that's not usually the case in some Asia countries....the airline pay for ALL your training and expenses, while ur in flight school....but you are also locked into a long term contract so you won't jump ship of some desprate airlines are hiring....
anywayz....just to say...there's many cadet pilot programe hiring fresh outta college or even highschool students....and some doesn't seems to be really enthusiatic about flying...or they just not like airliners.net freaks...

There are debris fields up to 56 miles apart. Sounds like the airplane broke up in mid-air to me

yea, and they didn't say what parts and how many, so there could be other parts everywhere. They also said on the news that another plane a week earlier also ment to travel from rio to senegal to paris, received a bombwarning. They checked it out completely but found nothing ... jesus

I thought airplanes are capable of taking extreme weather and turbulence. From what I remember, the wings can expand up to 20 feet upwards and downwards like a bird.

yes....but there's also design limits too....they're tough...but once you combine a few coincidences together....u can definately brought down a plane...

Air France and Brazilian military officials refused to confirm the report. But if accurate, it suggests that Flight 447 may have broken up thousands of feet in the air as it passed through a violent storm, experts told The Associated Press.

The report said the pilot sent a manual signal at 11 p.m. local time saying he was flying through an area of "CBs" — black, electrically charged cumulo-nimbus clouds that come with violent winds and lightning. Satellite data has shown that towering thunderheads were sending 100 mph (160 kph) winds straight into the jet's flight path at that time.

Ten minutes later, the plane sent a burst of automatic messages, indicating the autopilot had disengaged, the "fly-by-wire" computer system had been switched to alternative power, and controls needed to keep the plane stable had been damaged. An alarm also sounded, indicating the deterioration of flight systems, according to the report.

Three minutes after that, more automatic messages indicated the failure of two other fundamental systems pilots use to monitor air speed, altitude and direction. Then, a cascade of other electrical failures in systems that control the main flight computer and wing spoilers.

The report repeats a detail previously released by Brazil's Air Force: that the last message came at 11:14 pm, indicating loss of air pressure and electrical failure. The newspaper said this could mean sudden de-pressurization, or that the plane was already plunging into the ocean.

that's true, but there's always a nightmare scenario for everything. in the ITCZ, the storms get intense quickly this time of year, and they have an unlimited fuel supply. these are the same storms that turn into hurricanes and batter the gulf coast. would i fly an airbus through it? hell no! (i wouldn't fly an airbus anyway, but that's just personal politics )
