Truth = People have been stranded on the highway/road because of their HPFP.

My C63 had the navigation system fail with 500miles on the odometer as well. But, I guess at least I could drive it to the dealer.

Do you have any statistical data regarding the percentage of 335s that have encountered a HFPF failure?

Do you have statistical data regarding the percentage of people killed while engaging in street racing? (I do) * Average yearly fatal accident death rate in US: 37,000 * Average yearly fatal street racing related deaths in US: 135 * Percentage of street racing deaths out of total crash related deaths in USA: .3% Hey I guess everything is alright, 0.3% ain't bad...... except if it happens to you or someone you care about. The HPFP has stranded people, and even put people into unsafe situations on fast, high traffic, highways (dozens of threads here, 6SpeedOnline, etc). Truth. Are you honestly going to try and make the argument that the HPFP failing during operation of the vehicle is "cool" as long as it's not statistically significant (whatever that would entail), or am I reading your "question" wrong?

But the price gap between an e93 335i and a M3 coupe isn't that much, so for me, it wouldn't be worth it to cough up the $$ I mean, if performance was number 1 on my list i wouldn't have gotten a 2 ton car :P But for some, it would :P

LOL I agree with you. I've had my pump replaced once in 37,000 miles and thats the only issue i've ever had with the car. If you take care of your car and not treat the peddle like an on/off switch, you won't have too many problems.

The subject doesn't concern me in the least, but in an attempt to close the HPFP topic and move along, let me try to inject a small measure of unscientific objectivity regarding the subject.
Here's a poll of 335 owners on another forum of the mean miles between failure (MMBF) of HPFPs. Of the 99 335 owners who voted in the poll, 29 (or almost 30%) have had their HPFP replaced at least once. Perhaps more significant though is that of the other 70 owners who hadn't had any issues, only 1 person had more than 30k miles. Obviously, an online poll like this will have some bias and a larger sample size would be needed for more conclusive results, but not only do these numbers imply that the HPFP problem is widespread, they suggest that these things are ticking time bombs -- its only a matter of time.

And to quickly comment on the C63 predicament... That 6.2L is a real monster, and that car (over a 335) has a aesthetic wow factor that even M3's don't get. I can't comment of the handling of a C63 as I've never driven one... but if it is anything like a CLK63 Black Edition... Rock solid but lacks that real genuine "driver's car" feel.

My HPFP hasn't given me problems yet (knock on wood) but the cranks have been longer recently.
And back on subject... I'm not really a fan of the C63 although the power is there. The C63 guys on mbworld.org are the worst fanboys I've met though... even the guys w/ more expensive cars on there know its their ricer forum.

I've cleaned up all the off-topic BS and bickering in this thread. Let's all try to make sure that it doesn't get hijacked again.
