It's too early to say how many "more" Americans are going to watch this years Cup than in 2006, ratings will tell in time... I see a lot more World Cup attention at bars and pubs, but I just don't think Americans get the sport. It's NFL, Nascar, NBA, MLB here... Hopefully the WC does well in US ratings but the WC doesn't really care much about the USA. Once the team starts winning, I'm sure we'll get the bandwagon fans to cheer for them.

Greece played like absolute horse shit!! The coach left all the old players in who can barely run. He had a bench full of young bloods who could run and have great stamina, yet he didnt play them.
It would be nice to see them at least score ONE goal in the World Cup. God knows they didnt last time. |

I love the World Cup but I played soccer my whole life and have watched since 98 (well maybe earlier but I was only 7 in 94). It's hit or miss, there's certainly interest, but it is no where near like the rest of the world.

Germany ftw! They looked great out there today. I've watched a couple cups, they're always fun. I think a lot of Americans are watching it this year. People are starting to recognize the big name European premier league stars too (Messi, Beckham, Ronaldo, Rooney, usual suspects)

Beckham was on the bench at the UK game, and I was thinking about Ronaldo. My bad

Sadly, in street clothes. Honestly, I don't believe Beckham would have made the team had he been healthy. They may have had him as a bench player. But he is no where near as good as he used to be. Ronaldinho rode the bench on his club team as well. For someone so talented he needs to learn that there are more important things than drinking and partying. Especially when you are as naturally gifted as ronaldinho is.

They need to BAN those horns immediately. Absolutely terrible. Sounds like a crowd of 80,000 retards.
Germany looked like an unstoppable, well oiled machine today. Like an M Car. haha What a performance, those goals were all amazing. So far, the best squad. Let's see how Italy and Brazil play...

Korea > Greece
Korea embrassed the shit out of the formal Euro Champion. Time for koreans to get their asses whooped by Messi. Can't believe England tied with USA. That's some embrassing moment for England.
