Not asian but plenty of asian friends, especially living in Cali...

And yes i've seen quite a few Doraemon episodes and i was very surprised to find the plots were more sophisticated than i would have thought. Really awesome cartoon. Speaking of anime, just saw Spirited Away..was really cool...any suggestions?

Doraemon was the bomb. i think i like it so much because it's like a remnant of my childhood. i also really loved the ending when i read it later (think it was unofficial ending though). literally made me cry.

spirited away was good. really depends on what you're looking for, there's genres for everything. since you like Spirited Away, you can maybe start with some of Miyazaki's other works like Mononoke Princess or Laputa (i loved this as a kid). Miyazaki has a very distinct style and although i think it's good, i'm not a huge follower of his works. i used to watch a lot of anime so i can really go on forever about this lol... hit up anime thread or PM me for more info.
