Those girls were lucky that the instigators in the crowd didn't turn on them. While it's sad to see what looked increasingly inevitable, the car was going to get hurt. The girls seemed to push their luck by punching and kicking at people who clearly don't abide by the code most of us live by. Had they actually managed to land a punch, I fear they would have had themselves a street fight. That would not have gone well. One of those girls looked like she was 5 foot tall.

Meh... hardly worth it.. The insurance check will clear and she can be in a new M5 within a week or two.

If she ran someone over, she opens herself up to criminal charges and potentially a civil lawsuit... (she might have also had to pay the (higher) collision deductible instead of the comprehensive deductible)

The parents of a 17-year-old boy turned him in to Burnaby RCMP alleging he was involved in looting during the Vancouver riot.

The couple decided to contact police about their son after seeing photos of the looting at the Louis Vuitton store on the corner of Howe Street and West Georgia Street that were posted on the internet, RCMP said.

Police allege the teen was also linked to the destruction of a Vancouver police vehicle, which was flipped upside down during the rioting.

The youth, who cannot be named because of his age, is set to appear in court in August to answer to charges of break enter and theft, and mischief to property over $5,000.

Meanwhile, police in Vancouver continue to make arrests following the riot on Wednesday after the Stanley Cup final game at Rogers Arena.

Vancouver Police Department Chief Jim Chu said six people have turned themselves in and police are recommending charges ranging from arson to unlawful assembly.

Chu said 1,800 tips have come into VPD and a team of 30 officers are assigned to the investigation, with more expected to be added.

On Thursday, police said that 88 people had been charged with breach of peace, eight were charged with public intoxication and eight were charged with criminal offences, including theft, mischief, assault with a weapon and break and enter.

People with pictures or video or other evidence that may identify rioters are being asked to contact police.

Yeah, but that's tough in a crowd that big. First thing to do is try to get away from the situation...something these girls didn't do. They were fighting a losing battle.

Plus, I don't subscribe to warning shots. If I pull my weapon, someone is getting shot...dead. Otherwise, no sense in pulling it.
