If anyone in Melbourne is interested, waxit.com.au is having an open day tomorrow, Saturday 1st December 2012.
http://www.waxit.com.au/index.php?op...d=763&Itemid=1 I might go and take a look as I'm interested in some detailing 'stuff'. Maybe they will have some good deals.

Been to one of these before, no reduction in prices and the basics can be bought from the local shop front suppliers at a cheaper price! Im buying a heap of stock off Morrie when he does mine, he gets for wholesale so cheaper for Joe Public

Did some research based on the 2 products mentioned in this thread. The Wolf's Chemical Hard Body which is a sealant, the Swissvax Blau-Weiss 40% Carnauba wax. I do not have an intimate knowledge of these products nor much experience except to polish/wax every 6 months.
The Wolf's Chemical option is much cheaper when you can get the sealant and cleaner online for around $110-120 delivered. From the photos in this thread, it looks quite good and I'm guessing it has all the necessary properties like making the car shine, protecting the paint from harsh chemicals, bird droppings and being aqua-phobic. The Swissvax option costs about $230 just for the 200ml wax and cleaner. It says it will go for 20 applications so one can expect it to last at least 5 years. It's a great product i'm sure, but is it really worth paying this sort of money if all I want to achieve is genuine paint protection i.e. getting that hardy film on to protect against the elements? Anyways, wife thinks $200 for some wax is ludicrous. I also know that it wil product a mirror like car show finish but that's not really that important to me. My future F30 expected in April will be Sapphire Black FYI. |

Ya it really depends on what u want and how often u want to details. I've always been a fan of synthetic wax thus trying Swissvax was gave me the depth in color that I was looking for. Mind u that this wax doesn't offer protection as the hard body and opti coat which lasts for ages and help with minor scratches. I spend at least two times a week detailing. I tried ps21 wheel cleaners recently it's awesome cost like 50 but great results cut my wheel cleaning time in half.
http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=754921 Got one of the shots after I did a whole Swissvax detail Last edited by J1n; 12-29-2012 at 08:02 AM.. |

Thanks for the quick reply. 2 times a week detailing, wow that takes dedication.
I'm happy to wash my car once a fortnight, but detailing it every week is beyond me. Since i'm mainly after the most durable paint protection, would you recommend Wolf's Chemical sealants over the Swissvax stuff? What is the difference between Hard Body and Body Wrap? The product description claims that the Hard Body is the latest and an "upgrade" to the Body Wrap. Does that mean I should go for Hard Body as a no brainer. I take it that Wolf's Chemicals still gives you an above average shine but Swissvax stuff is the ultimate. Please share your experiences. Swissvax Cleaning Fluid goes with their wax as a pre-waxing agent, what's the equivalent for Wolf's? Last edited by screenshot; 12-29-2012 at 08:11 PM.. |

you can't really compare Hard Body with Swissvax! one is a carnuba was and the other is a paint protection...
you'll always get more shine on carnuba but less protection and durability... and the vice versa is true for paint protection. |

I would not say that Swissvax gives the ultimate look. It has alot to do with paint preparation and maintenance. I used meguiars synthetic waxes before this and it was cheap and it did give a very nice depth and shine. Swissvax does give abit more depth but not by far. I am already getting abit annoyed with the fine scratches left by cones branches just every day stuff.. I'm going to be busy with paint repair >_< |

Also Glossy Reflection vs Depth there is close to no difference to the average Joe.. (not wanting to get flamed by the hardcore Detailers) |

Can't see any reason why not if they want more Melbourne customers, except if it's only an internet 'thing'. Might have to come and try your luck. We might even meet up finally. A good excuse to.
I will probably stick my head in the door & say hi around 1830-1900

I work in the city and can probably get out there around 6pm too. How about we schedule a meeting in the car park at 6pm. I'll keep an look out for F30s in the car park and will approach owners of such models on sight!

1800 is a little too early for me. I can do 1830. I went for a walk with my wife the other day and found the address currently houses Mr Detail @ Bowden Automotive on the cnr with William Street.
