Not too familiar with Audis but they seem to love chroming everything out. The front grill chrome always looks distracting to me, detracting from the front look of the car.
And the side-view mirrors in these pics aren't painted to match the body color. Def. a sportier type of look, almost like how the 350Z's door handles aren't painted to match either. Interior looks pretty nice though.

I just read over on one of the Audi forums that dealers are saying the car will be about $63K, fully optioned out with all taxes including gas guzzler. Base price is said to around $55,900. Ouch!

Looks like there are a lot of buttons for the car functions down by the shifter. Too many buttons considering you'd have to do them all by feel (and memorize which are which). Otherwise, you're looking too far away from the road to use them.
Other than that, I think the interior looks pretty nice. |

Yeh but i'm still anti-Audi. Bad past experience with that company...too many reliability problems with an '02 A6 2.7T. And like the earlier post said, they'll never have the "magic touch"...and that side view definitely looks like a hyundai!

Its a really nice looking car--good looking interior--but I really am not a fan of those headlights. Other than that,

The A5 interior is awesome, I stopped by an audi dealership to check one out with a friend. The exterior sucks IMHO. Plus its not a small car and my friend went with a 335 on the lot because he said the Audi looked like an old guys car.
That and those Daytime running lights, when they're on, remind me of a spaceship everytime I pass one.

How can anyone pass judgements on the A5/S5 driving dynamic if they've never driven one???? It'd be presumtious at best to assume it drives like the current A4/S4 since it's a new platform. Time will tell...I think it's gorgeous. Wish the S5 was about 10k cheaper but oh well...

Audi does a lot of things right, interior design is one of them. To me this interior looks about 5 years ahead of the e9x. Unfortunately the car will be nose heavy and underpowered (excluding the R, RS models).
My last three cars have been Audi, and I will stand by their quality and design but in the end their performance, and feel have always been lacking, which is why I jumped ship. The A5 is a gorgeously designed car and will hopefully sell well for Audi, but for now I will happily stick with my e92 (should be here in late Aug ) because at this time and in this price range, no one can touch it for performance and handling. |

To help with the current nose heavy dynamic, Audi has pushed the engine back some. It's a new chassis so hopefully the balance is better. This from Edmunds: To its credit, Audi does bias the Quattro system to deliver 60 percent of the power to the rear wheels. And like the A5 upon which it's based, the S5 has its engine located slightly aft in the chassis to improve handling. The suspension has also been tightened up |
