I carry a gun because I can, it's my right to protect myself, my family and innocent people on the street from those who are intent on harming people.

Feel free to depend on the police, who if you haven't figured out, respond to crimes for your protection.
When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

It is not the job of the police to protect you, that's your job. Police show up after the crime.

If I'm not mistaken even the Supreme Court came out and said it's not the police's job to protect individual citizens.

So if it's not their job, whose job is it?

The police are re-active, not pro-active (they can't be). The rape, burglary, assault or whatever crime is over when they show up.

The LAPD had a public contest to come up with there new motto. That's how that phrase came about.

This is true. Police officers have the right to NOT protect you in order to protect themselves. Much in the same way firemen have the right to refuse to go into a burning building for their own safety.

I looked in my glove box today and there are a pair of carpet trimming scissors in there too along with a razor knife. You never know...

Not very safe keeping a gun in the glove box in case your car gets broken into, just saying.

Why not?
It locks.
Most people I know have a cheaper glovebox gun and then carry their "better" gun on them.

I always keep my guns safety off one in the chamber. I dont have kids so no need to worry about them. If i am in the situation where i need to use it the last thing i want to be worried about is having to flip the safety.

Thank you i really like it. For the price you cant beat it. It is almost identical to the glock 26

Yes I think that's what's he meant. Wouldn't be unrealistic to slip up to shoot yourself with it chambered and safety off.

it's not very much of a lock. Plus even though your saying the cheap gun is in there, it would still be in the hands of a criminal. I'm in law enforcement and not allowed to keep my gun in the glovebox, that's why i'm saying this. Has to be in a lockbox secured to the car. Unless i keep in on me all the time, which honestly gets old fast and uncomfortable with seat bolsters.
I guess I could always just get another gun......but still, they make a good point of keeping a gun safe.
