I understand the price of gas but then why do you own a 1M. Shouldn't you have bought something "environmentally friendly". The way people feel across the pond are not the way americans think. Performance is always measurable, it's an objective thing. The only measure of performance I've found about the Camaro that is objectively comparable to the Alfa 4C's is the Camaro's 0-60 mph acceleration time... unless you can show me the Camaro's Nurburgring lap time when driven by Horst von Saurma.

What the Alfa 4C does, contrary to the Toyobaru for instance, is to bring together performance and handling both mainly based on its extreme lightweight - the Toyobaru can only give you the latter - and that's how the Alfa 4C will be facing the american market.

For sure when you compare the Alfa 4C against a 981 Porsche Cayman S, a Boxster S or a E92 M3, which the Alfa 4C can beat performance wise, you realize that at 54000$ the 4C is the less expensive of them all, and I mean, by a HUGE margin.

As for the Camaro the only car I've ever owned that more closely can resemble it for the big torque and weight is my BMW 1M... and all I can tell you is I want to trade it for the Alfa 4C and I'm waiting for the dealer answer to close the deal.

Completely agree, but unfortunately the manual trans is going to be a thing of the past for most vehicles. We are a minority. But from my experience the trans in the 4C isn't too bad. Right up there with any other robot manual unit.

Totally agreed with you! On both counts.

This car is so sexy!!! But the fact that we are not allowed to row on our own really diminishes the intimate experience...if porsche offers the MT, Alfa really should too if they want to showthey have passion.

I didnt kbow there wont be any manual. I was so looking forward to this car yesterday.
Less so now because of the tranny.

I am willing to give it a chance, but i really have to test drive it first.
I am just afraid i will miss too much the MT.

As for the weight gained, if i were to buy this car, i would try to have it strip down.
