Lakers beat the Magic, 106-97.
Dwight Howard scores 39 points, 25 of them from the FT line out of 39(!) attempts.

Doesn't sound good... Rolled his ankle pretty badly, I hear.
And the Lakers lost to the Hawks, 96-92. Lakers shot terribly, under 40%, and Howard scored a mere 10 points... Shot his entire wad in Orlando, apparently.

Well all the Kobe haters may get what they have been waiting for. Let's just see how many games they win without Kobe. If all the haters are correct, shouldn't be a problem.

I never liked Jones. He always looked and acts like a douche bag. But I don't really see anything dirty about that play. All he did was contest the jump shot and Kobe just clipped the back of his shoes. Ron Artest does this on a daily basis. This is what good defenders do.
BTW, I thought the NBA was cracking down on people swing their legs when they shoot to try to get a 3 point play? I've seen so many people getting offensive fouls for swinging their legs like that and tripping the opponent trying to defend. |

it was a turn around fade away where did you expect his natural leg swinging motion supposed to go? the other direction? jones barely jumped a few inches and didnt even straighten his arm to contest? he clearly kick his left knee out.
Its an unwritten rule player to player thing that you should never walk under the landing space, its a damaging to ones career. hes known to be dirty and basically all the commentators agreed that should of been a foul. "With 3.9 seconds remaining in the Atlanta Hawks' 96-92 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on March 13, the Lakers' Kobe Bryant attempted a jump shot over the Hawks' Dahntay Jones. After review at the league office, video replay confirmed that referees missed a foul call on Jones as he challenged Bryant's shot and did not give him the opportunity to land cleanly back on the floor. Bryant should have been granted two free throws."

It would have been great to watch Kobe play against Indiana. Looking at next week though with the lakers playing sac, pho and washington. Lakers need all the games they can get, but they should be able to "afford" to let Kobe sit those games if he needs.
There's a chance that Gasol might play next week, so might ease the transition of Pau in the lineup as well. Lakers really need that 6th seed though.... |

Artest vs Kobe were good times lol.
Anyone see Kobe and artest jawing it out during the Bulls game. I think it was just miscommunication during a play and resulting turnover, but Kobe was pretty heated. |

Compare Dahntay Jones' vs Bruce Bowen. Look at how far Bruce Bowen extend his leg. There is some double standard in the NBA. Bruce Bowen has been sticking his leg out to purposely injure people but foul is rarely or never called. Last year in the playoffs, Lebron's heel clipped Granger when he was going for a jump shot similar to what happened to Kobe. No foul was ever called and the league never reviewed it. Something similar happened to Westbrook this season and no fouls was ever called either. |
