Sorry, I'd forgotten that I limited access to the Originals in my settings. I've reopened it for a few days in case anyone still wants to look.

Thanks. That's because I just fixed it. Please don't download all my Original files.

Same tree, different angle, taken a bit later than the previous pic, you can see a star on the left corner. I like this one better than the other..

At the risk of boring everyone to death, yet another prairie sunset. Not much else to shoot here. I have to say, the 7D AF is sweet, but I still had some issues getting it to lock onto things in this light. I just had to make sure one of the telephone poles was in the cross hairs. But once it does lock on, the poles are sharp as hell even at 100%.

Nice colors Mark.
Yes, the AF need to be on something with contrast or detail, otherwise it won't lock. The 7D is great at macros. Maybe you should buy a 25mm Extension Tube and start looking for wee things to shoot.

I have a 12mm extension and a 35mm F2 lens, which works well as a pseudo-macro. Might have to give it a go.

Buying "macro" lenses is generally a waste of money, except they tend to be sharp in all uses. The 65mm macro is an exception that'll go to 5-times magnification, but at extremely close working distances. I love my 70-200mm and 500mm as macros and I'm thinking of buying another 25mm ET to get even closer. Here's the 70-200mm, plus the 1.4x TC (at 280mm for this shot), plus the 25mm ET, all on the 7D: Bumble bee on lavender by dcstep, on Flickr Dave
