Our BBL 2024 X1 M35i arrived on Maui 11/27/2023. Took delivery 11/29. DIY detailed and ceramic coated the following week. Thoroughly enjoying the M35i, with no real issues - only check engine light after 1st fuel refilling( fuel cap sensor - dealer reset), OTA Update 07/2023.72 currently, no Video Augmented Reality or Drive Recorder yet, hopefully soon with next update. Finally had time for photos of BBL in mixed lighting (sun, shade and fill flash). BBL is a chameleon color - one must see in person - from deep dark teal to sparkling turquoise. Debated over BBL vs. CYG, but BBL won - We love it!

Simply beautiful
That color is definitely made for sunny places - and the interior compliments it. Now imagine sitting in a BMW board meeting where you have to sign of a color palette for all markets… |

Originally we started looking at the ‘23 X1 28i over a year ago, but because of our location we could only see a very limited stock of colors - if any (only one demo M Sport Storm Bay metallic on island for a week 1st half of the year). Fortunately, with family in California and Canada (TuxMats score!), a mainland spring ‘23 trip allowed us to see more colors in person. By summer’s end we narrowed down the choices to Alpine White, CYG & BBL. Location and environment played a role in color choice too - in South Maui, winter is very warm (82-84ºF) and summer is just HOTTER! (88-90ºF) lots of sun + rain shadow. For us, a dark interior was out of the question, even with our remote start climate control and dog in rear seat. We requested our build order include red calipers (even if extra cost) with Oyster interior because we couldn’t get 711-M Sport seats in the lighter color - but no go. For now, happy with blue calipers (maybe paint red later?), but on second thoughts blue calipers fit our older demographic!🤣 So sand & sea with wood trim felt right for us here. Totally agree color is a personal preference and the X1 looks great in all of them. The hardest part is choosing just one!😉 |

Or, more appropriately for this thread, some real/actual photos?

As soon as things stop looking brown and muddy around here I’m gonna take my car out for a legit photo shoot.
Think I should do it with or without the roof box? |

WITH the roof box, of course! (but I'm biased because I have a Thule roof box, in silver, which kind of matches my space silver X1)
