Also, technology improves at a mad pace, and I doubt manufacturers will stand by twiddling their thumbs. Unless Verstappen's life is guaranteed, that too, becomes a factor. I'm sure there was someone like you saying the same thing about Hamilton when he was starting out. Same about Alonso before he dethroned Shumacher.

As far as the new crop of drivers are concerned, Verstappen is head and shoulders above the rest, in the same way I knew Hamilton was when he started out.

I think the dig at MB fans is the few who proclaimed that Verstappen was nothing special at all. I don't know if you were one of them but whoever they are, they are certainly eating crow right now.

ALL champions lose eventually; certainly you know that. This may be Max's year, but the years after that yet remain. Meanwhile Hamilton has his seven championships. Once again, a bird in the hand...

You are stating the obvious.

I guess my question to you is, do you think Verstappen is an average driver like a few said he was OR he has the makings of an ELITE Driver.

Let us see at least two world championships, or he becomes one of eighteen first timers.

I'm not prepared to say HAM is on the wane but is getting older. I'm also not part of the Orange Army yet. Max is basically the only hope of dethroning HAM this year.

I'm also excited for next year and want to see who gets the new car right. Someone could pull off a "Brawn" but the best bet is still MB & RB staying on top. However, I hope there will be closer racing with wins going to the best driver instead of best team. We shall see.

Sadly Ferrari is going in the WRONG direction with their new engine IMHO
Such a waste for LEC & SAI

I agree, as to this year. But Max still takes nothing away from Hamilton. The chart below explains what Hamilton did in his rookie year, compared to Max's rookie year. Did things finally dawn on Max that he had to do something? Dethroning a champ still takes nothing away from that person. If I were to win against Usain Bolt at eighty, is not the same as winning against him now.

I suspect they are just about over this forum and all the complete nonsense that gets spewed in it daily now. I know I am.

Mate honestly , your statements and posts are useless...actually BS !

If MAX had the chance to run in the previous seasons with the Merc's Warp-Speed dominance . He would have won all the World Championships as well !

Do you want to see the proofs ?
Watch the races and see who's currently beating Hammy by 32 points !
And I can tell you ..."This is only the beginning" !

WTF are you talking about with this gibberish? And your IFS do not help. Hamilton has 12 birds in the hand. Max has............ Give me a break. Yes. Max stands the best chance at winning this year, after how many years? Yours are all excuses.

Did you notice all the IFS? Please.

7 championships compared to none; okay 1, which hasn't happened yet.

I suspect they will be back when or if MB get back on form. Till then they will still dodge the legitimate flexible front wing questions.

What is there to dodge. If its a violation, they should be forced to change it. If they dont comply, penalize them. Same as RB.

That's the problem, it is a violation and the FIA won't do their job. On board footage clearly shows the front wing moving. No different than RB's rear.

I don't think it's about taking anything away from Ham!

Just like Ham hasn't taken anything away from Schumacher.

I agree with the punishment of the flexible front wing accusation; fair is fair. Nobody, however, is hiding from anything. The logic of winning one championship, does not equate to the dethroning of that champion. Did Hamilton dethrone Schumacher? Hell no, he just equalled him. The big question is if Max's fans are going to be this nitpicky while Max tries to win the next seven championships?

(edit) You guys above clarified all this already.

It's really remarkable and funny how "You Hammy-Guru's" have been blinded for over 7 years by the Mercedes Warp-Speed domination !

Bro, are you always hostile or just come off that way? By Dethroning I simply meant beating HAM THIS year. You are mixing my statements in with others. I've never compared winning one WDC to dethroning a 7 time champion.

Not hostile at all and, if you notice my prior posts, yes I believe Max will win this year. Perhaps he deserves it simply because he is trying the hardest. Not my intention to be hostile and accept my apologies.

Nothing changes..the hammy bois just don't want to see the huge advantage the Merc hybrid had and sneaked it by in '14 through the ''greener'' excuse through a gullible Fia.
An ex Merc employee has said that Merc were careful to TURN DOWN their engine not to arouse too much suspicion.
