Way off on number 2, that was in Singapore. I lived most of my life in Houston, maybe 25 miles north of Moody Gardens, never been there and guess I should have. I did go to Galveston beach on occasion.

Common theme is both are in CA. Closer to home in the sense that all my other photos are not in the US.

1) Lake Tahoe (one of the most scenic drives in the CS)

Are you sure that this is Coronado Beach? From the POV into the back it has to be Point Loma and I miss the lighthouse, or am I mistaken?

Yep, that is Point Loma. To the right is the Naval base, I took some pics of the planes landing. Coronado was my go to beach when I lived in SD and even flew there a couple of times this year. The pic is from March.
