Oh damn! That’s unfortunate. I’ve never purchased a hand guard manufactured by them.

Whatever you can get ammo in for that's not overly expensive and whatever your kid shoots better with.

I started my kids on 22 then we went on to 9, 40, 45 and 357SIG. They didn't even want to try 357 Magnum or 10mm. lol. They settled on 9mm. So I got them matching Glock 19s.

My SCS Carry came in. Installed fine. Will zero this weekend when I get back to work.

I consolidated calibers long ago & 45 went bye bye. 9mm gets my vote

Suggestions for hearing protections for my wife?

She has tried the foam plugs and the polymer plugs along with Walker Razor muffs and 3M Optime 105 muffs.

Anything else out there that may work better for her or just about all the same? Her hearing has been more sensitive since the ear infection that she had (Cleared up now)

I use Howard Leight ear protection and it works well for the women also.

9mm averages 23-24 cents per round where 45 is around 40-45 cents per round. You get a lot more value with 9mm.

I've used MSA Sordins and Peltor with gel cups. Gel cups for the ears are awesome. Inner section, I typically use some type of hearing amplification like Walkers or Cadwell so that the sound goes through the outer ear muffs and through the inner ear plugs. This way I can hear people.

I had a BA 8.3” 300 BO Barrel. I replaced it with a 7.5” Faxon Gunner. Have a Law Tactical folder -> Just small enough to fit in my Vertx backpack.

Have 9, 40, & 45. The 9’s are taken out most often.
Wife shoots a 9mm 1911
One of my (adult) sons loves the Glock 26. The other a 45 1911.

The 40s are rarely taken out, but 40 S&W ammo was available while 9 and 45 were unobtainable during the last ammo panic/shortage.

My HK SP5 is now officially an MP5SD! This has been my grail gun since I was a teenager playing COD. Unfortunately, the suppressor I want for it isn't out yet, so all I can do is look at it for now. Damn if she isn't a beaut though! Going to form 1 it once I move out of MD here in a few weeks as well.

That is nice. And semi-burst-full. Love it.

What suppressor do you need? I have a Dead Air Wolfman on my MP5 and very happy with it. But mine is a full size MP5 so I don't know it that matters.

She has passive Walkers now with gel cups. She doesn't like the electronic muffs. I run electronic Walker Razors, but will be switching to passive for the NRR bump.

I ordered a pair of Peltor Sport Ultimate for her tonight off Amazon. Rated at 30 NRR. Hopefully, they arrive before we leave for the range tomorrow.

The Sordin are expensive! What justifies $200+ vs a Peltor pair for much less?

Was your BA barrel not accurate or consistent?

I have a BA barrel on my 16" AR. Only 1 range trip on it so far. I think it may have been too inaccurate after it got hot, but I will give it 1 more range trip before I make a final decision

The BA barrel didn’t always function with subsonic ammo. I am not an expert, but I think that the BA gas port diameter is sized to function with a suppressor + subsonic ammo. I don’t have a suppressor, so I didn’t pursue it.

The issue could very well have been with the Sellier & Bellot subsonic ammo. Very dirty. The BA functioned fine with supersonic ammo (Winchester).

The BA barrel is 8.3” in length. The Faxon is 7.5”. The weapon with the Faxon fit inside my pack while it was 1/2” too long with the BA.

300 BO is very expensive to shoot. I have since moved on to 9mm and 45 AR pistols. My 9 fits into a smaller pack. Of course, it’s all internet ninja stuff, but it is much easier to move and not be loaded down. The 9 and 45 take Glock mags - I have compatible Glock pistols.

Unfortunately, the lower is just for show. It's only semi auto. I wish I had ~$60k for a transferable MP5SD, but that's not in the cards right now!

It requires a special suppressor threaded M18x1. I've been waiting on B&T's new model for months now. They keep pushing the release date back.

WHat can for 300BO do you guys recommend? Swapping my Obsidian 9 between the 300BO and my Extar EP9 right now and want to get a dedicated can for the 300BO or maybe I should get another 5.56 can that is lighter & shorter than my Turbo T3 & SOCOM MINI2? lol

Sound suppression is obviously paramount, but weight is a 1A factor. The 300BO barrel is 9" and will only be shooting subs. I have a 3 lug adapter on the barrel right now

The SOCOM300 SPS is literally made for 300BO and has the same Surefire durability.
