Recruiting and general direction of the program. The amount of damage done by the Tressel/Pryor/Herron/Posey/etc... fiasco has already been pretty significant. The fact that we have even a remote chance at winning The Game this year speaks volumes in itself, and on the recruiting trail we're in WAY better shape than we were before that. OSU has come down a bit and we're finally on our way up, now that we got rid of that no-talent, no-brains sack of shit Dick Rod.
I hate Urban, but he's a great coach and will ensure that OSU gets back on course really quick and really thoroughly. Makes me sad a bit. |

I'm going out to predict, if OSU gets Urban Myer, OSU will win the National Championship within 5 years.
I think a lot of MSU and Wisconsin fans really think this is the turning point downwards for OSU, and there's a change in the reins of the big dogs in the Big Ten, but I want to remind you, OSU will be back, we always will be. Remember Wisconsin football was NOTHING until Alverez came to town, MSU football was NOTHING in large gaps in the 60s AND the 70s and didn't get established until Saban came into town, and mostly b/c it's couple that with a down OSU team in 1999-2001 or the 2-year glitch in the scheduling of not playing the top teams in the conference. My message to the rest of the Big Ten, live it up while you can, b/c it'll get even more painful for you after we settle down the next head coach. Quote:

Yeah I wasn't ever assuming OSU would have an extended stay in the middle-of-the-B1G standings, but I was hoping we'd have some extra time to build ourselves up while OSU picks themselves back up. With Urban, I think the turnaround will be swift. I don't know if I'd say they'll win it within 5 years, but I would say they will be in the discussion sooner than that.

Setting the bar low and managing expectations is completely out of the question at OSU. That's what you do at schools like Oklahoma St and Michigan St, we're different. btw from Yahoo! Sports blog: Thou doth protest too much. Obligatory denial notwithstanding, everyone and their brother was on board the Urban Meyer-to-Ohio State bandwagon over the weekend, beginning with "solid sources" — plural — telling Buckeye blog Eleven Warriors that Meyer has agreed in principle to become the next coach. Both Eleven Warriors and ESPN — among others — cited "mutual interest" between OSU and Meyer, who has reportedly begun piecing together a staff in anticipation of a deal to be announced after the season. The tallest remaining hurdle: The results of Ohio State's ongoing waggle dance with the NCAA, which could still result in significant sanctions over former coach Jim Tressel's extended coverup of player violations last year. The only certainty: Barring a hammer from the NCAA that thwarts the Buckeyes' courtship with any other viable replacement, non-interim coach Luke Fickell is on his way out after Saturday's 20-14 loss to Penn State. At 6-5, not only is Ohio State going to fall short of the Big Ten title for the first time since 2004: If it fails to extend its seven-year winning streak over Michigan this weekend in Ann Arbor — the Wolverines are opening as 7˝-point favorites — Fickell's long-shot audition for the full-time gig isn't even going to net a winning record. I heard that was his official statement (actually it was that he wasn't offered the job), but maybe he did that just so he'd still be able to be in the booth for The Game this weekend? Looks like he's not going to be there anyway; I'd say that might be a safe sign that he's taking the job.

Denard Robinson is terrible... Every game I have watched this season has left me completely unimpressed.

I can't wait until we get rid of these Rich Rod rejects. The team is well coached, but we've got too many morons out there. |
