They both did respond to say that it is now under development since there seems to be a demand for it. Unsure of time line. |

Has anyone added a seat cover? If so, what kind?
If the dealer doesn't throw in a set of weatherproof mats or liners I'm considering getting these floor mats. I like them because of the protection for the carpet on the rear floor hump. Good deal on them now at Amazon with a $15 off coupon. Wailtnb Floor Mats Custom for BMW X1 2023 All Weather Protection TPE Rubber Waterproof Non-Slip Durable Floor Liners https://a.co/d/e4pLbmE There's also an option to add the cargo mat with a $40 off coupon. |

my BMW dealer had the original BMW all weather mats(front and rear) for only $120 or $130 back in September, with a service/parts coupon. I looked at them and decided that I didn't like the rubber look. They looked better than any aftermarket mats and the price seemed very reasonable to me. I did get the reversible trunk mat from BMW. It has worked very well. The carpet side is usually up, but when I carry stuff from Home Depot, I flip it over to the rubber side. (was $110 from that BMW online parts dealer) |

Since within days of buying my X1, we had snow, and in my area they salt the roads, I decided to buy the OEM rubber floor mats for the front only, as my drivers side floor area was already filthy after a few days. I'm a big Weathertech floor liner fan, but sadly, they aren't available yet for my vehicle. These aren't true "floor liners" in that they don't cover the carpet on the sides (don't stretch upwards, more like a tray than a mat) but I didn't want to wreck the carpets in the first month of ownership. They were only $107, so for that price, I was ok with it.
I did find a trunk liner on eBay for like $50, and that should be arriving soon. I wanted that sooner than later for when I go skiing and have my wet boots and gear to put back in the trunk. Will be helpful in Spring when picking up plants from the nursery. I'd like to get some sort of small basket/container to put in part of the under-console tray, to store my charging cord, a pen, and a few other bits and bobs. |

A key item I keep in the tray is a glasses wipe I use on the screen after I shut the car off (fingerprint cleaning!) It's so light and has drifted under the seat a few times. It needs to stay somewhere a little deeper so the fan can't blow it around. I'd also like to keep a small comb in there. |

sidebar: has anyone noticed inside the shallow console, there is a small rectangular section toward the front? It's PERFECT for my Aldi quarters! (IYKYK!)

Come to think of it, my daughter crochets and is looking for a Xmas gift for me. I may suggest she crochet me a basket (I'll give her dimensions) and have a wire frame around the top and bottom. That would be cool, and sentimental for me.

Anyone changing their own oil? Which filter on Amazon? They have a match for 2023 X1 but sometimes it seems like the 2023's are still associated with the 2022 F48's

Has anyone bought a trash container and if so, where did you install it?
My previous car had a good sized shifter so I just hung a target bag from it to hang into the passenger area. I really don't want to use an adhesive to affix a hook or whatever somewhere. I don't thing the "back of the headrest" type work well for what I'm looking for (somewhere in easy reach while driving to throw away a tissue, napkin, piece of gum, etc.) Last edited by SeaSkiAndMe; 12-19-2023 at 09:35 PM.. |

Before the environmentalists jump on me... someone in corporate thought these no-tree, compostable, earth-friendly large paper(?) cups were a good idea. Sure.. it says good for hot and cold drinks. However, if the coffee or tea is at drinkable temperature(160-ish), it starts to leak after about 20 minutes. Nobody uses them. That's why there's a giant box of them(maybe 5000) in the storage closet behind the break room. I "borrow" a couple dozen and keep them in the trunk. |

I use one cupholder for my keys, and the other often has either my own commuter cup or a takeout coffee cup in it. But maybe moving my keys elsewhere and fitting a larger plastic cup in the open cupholder, and repurposing a thin plastic produce bag to line it would make a nice mini-trash can.
A handy feature of my husband's Volvo is a slot on the dash right below the start/stop button that you can plug the fob into. It's literally just a key holder but I find it really helpful. I need to find a place for my keys. I'm still not used to the push button thing. I don't always have a purse with me and am afraid of losing them. |

If anyone’s looking for rear bumper guards and has a sport trim I’d get the ones made by rgm. I had them on my golf gti and they were the best! Too bad mines an xline or I’d snag these in a heartbeat.

Only issue is than that the mounting bracket location on the bottom of the airbox is not exactly the same in our cars so for now it’s zip tied (which, to be fair is how they mount it in their install guide anyway, just in a slightly different location) but it’s not going anywhere and seems to be fine. No check engine lights or issues. I’ll be posting a little install guide post later on today with a video as well. This is the one I got specifically: https://burgertuning.com/products/bm...s-f40-1-series

I did it for the little extra but of noise but should help it breath a little better. There’s big discussions on how much an intake like this really helps since in theory you’re sucking in more hot air. Who knows.

Not a massive difference I would say but for sure you can hear more turbo noises. Here's a sound comparison before and after and a DIY thread I just posted.
