No more formation lap. Now it's just: Leave pits, one lap to the grid until race start. I guess people thought the formation lap was too slow as drivers were trying to conserve power.

A lot more actions this race in Malaysia. But some drivers racing etquitte needs to be sharpened. The way Nick Heidfeld got taken out the race was poor race craft from opponent. You dont just stuck your front end of your car in the apex and push the other one out to the barrier. That only applicable in games!
The driver will for sure be penalized if they do that in F1. Watching that in Fox2 reminded me how good NBC has improved from SPEED. Turning the race into commercial break on the second lap, and entire commercial break lasted 3 minutes, by the time it returned, it was on lap 6-7 already! Horrible!

Round 3 - Punta del Este, Uruguay Circuit Guide The Punta del Este Formula E race, or ePrix, takes place on December 13 2014 and forms the third of 10 races for the inaugural 2014/2015 season. At 1.1mile (2.8km) in length and featuring 20 turns, the street circuit is located along Punta del Este’s picturesque harbour - nicknamed the Monte-Carlo of South America - just south of Maldonado and is based on the track previously used for the TC2000 touring car events. Set on a beautiful beach backdrop, the tight, twisty layout uses a mix on medium straights and sharp turns, providing a challenge for the Formula E teams and drivers. The Punta del Este ePrix is the first of two races in South America alongside Buenos Aires (Round 4) on January 10, 2015. |

Just watched the Buenos Aires ePrix. I had it DVR'ed since I wasn't about to stay up
Couple crashes, lots of yellow laps, the last 2 laps are exciting and I'm glad "my" driver and the team I support won One gripe: these cars waaay too delicate. To rough in the chicanes will DNF you. Hopefully this will be fixed next year when another chassis can join the Renault chassis. It also makes for a lot of course caution laps. Maybe it's by design to preserve battery, I don't know. I'd also like to see wider tracks. I understand wanting to have major cities and landmarks trackside but the narrow circuits don't allow for much overtaking and when it can occur, half the time someone hits the wall or breaks a suspension rod or spins out...yellow flag again. That all said I'll continue to watch and I'm glad for the victory today! If you missed it, I'll post up a YouTube shortly |

Watched the race in Buenos Aires on youtube. I'll have to admit I was skeptical. But, I thought the race was a lot of fun too watch. I miss the engine noise. But, the F1 cars don't have much either... this was a lot more exciting than F1

Here is the YouTube of round 4, the Buenos Aires
Spoiler .... . . . . . . Spoiler . Last chance~.... . . .. . . . . . . . Formula E: Félix da Costa wins in Buenos Aires. BMW DTM driver António Félix da Costa won the fourth round of the FIA Formula E Championship in Buenos Aires and celebrated his first win in the racing series for fully-electric single-seater cars. ( BMW Motorsport, Jan 11, 2015 ) Starting from eighth on the grid in front of a sell-out crowd of 20,000 at the street circuit in the Argentinean capital, Félix da Costa cut through the field magnificently to win after 35 laps. The Portuguese driver came home 5.354 seconds clear of Nicolas Prost. “I noticed in qualifying that we had the pace to be in contention,” said Félix da Costa. “I am very happy that we were fast enough to get the win.” The BMW i8 Safety Car was once again in action in a turbulent race, which featured a number of crashes. The next round of the FIA Formula E Championship takes place on the streets of Miami on 14th March.
