That said, if it is true that ROS admitted to hitting him intentionally, then that reflects very badly on ROS. There's a big difference between going all out and intentionally hitting someone, especially your teammate.

I saw Rosberg's car twitch and took that as his trying to brake hard and back out. I'm not convinced he could drive that precisely in the middle of that pass to just clip HAM's tire and not cause more damage to his wing. That's just my thoughts, though, and I could indeed be wrong. This whole bit about Nico doing it intentionally is deplorable if it's true.

This might cause the FIA to look into the telemetry.
I dont think the FIA will tolerate any deliberate sabotage.

If what HAM said about ROS intentionally not to avoid a collision and made the contact.
Then I take my word back, he deserved to be booed.

Magnussen handed 20-second Spa penalty
Kevin Magnussen has been handed a 20-second post-race penalty for forcing Fernando Alonso off the road during the late scrap for fifth place at the Belgian Grand Prix.
On the penultimate lap Magnussen headed a train of three world champions, Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button and Sebastian Vettel, when the Ferrari driver started down the Kemmel Straight. Magnussen moved over to the right and edged Alonso onto the grass, before the Spaniard was forced wide again several corners later at Rivage, prompting an immediate investigation which found the Dane responsible for the former incident. The official stewards report said: "The driver of car 20 [Magnussen] was defending his position on the [Kemmel] straight between turns 4 and 5. A significant portion of car 14 [Alonso] was alongside car 20. The driver of car 20 did not leave enough space for car 14 and forced the car off the track." The result drops Magnussen down to 12th, but the Dane says he enjoyed the contest even if it was bittersweet. "It was a tough challenge, because everyone around me had slightly fresher tyres than I did, and they're all great drivers: they're not the easiest guys to keep behind," Magnussen said. "So I just tried my best to defend my position as well as I could. I enjoyed the fight, I thought it was a tough but fair fight. "Despite being penalised after the race, I have to say I enjoyed the weekend. I had great fun out there this afternoon - I was involved in exciting racing on an awesome circuit." Clearly displays the madness of going on the outside of Lewis here. There is just no way Nico thought he could pass here. Then watch his hands when the hit occurs, almost fully to the right. Is it just a counter move from a braking twitch? Could be, but it was a crazy move from the start. At a minimum very reckless. Lewis has no chance or blame here, it's all on Rosberg IMO.

Stewards should look at the tape and then take into account the comments of that arrogant SOB Rosberg and impose a major penalty either retroactive for this race or the next. What a dick!!

Really looking forward to the last race double points f*cking over Rosberg. Honestly liked Rosberg before today. Hoping Hamilton or even Ricciardo takes the championship. Last edited by DieGrüneHölle; 08-24-2014 at 02:31 PM.. |

Both drivers agreed to disagree in their argument during post race meeting.

So Rosberg is not saying he turned into HAM, but that he knew he was inside and intentionally did not back off, which (I'm sure he hoped) would have caused HAM to go wider at the apex or make contact, which is what happened. Not quite as bad as hitting him intentionally, but still bad enough not to cede the racing line to your teammate when it was clearly his.

Finally some real racing - I'm glad to see drivers attempt to go for it - TOTAL ACCIDENT and it could just as easily been Nico disabled and Lewis driving off.

Karma is going to hit Rosberg eventually. Hopefully at the last race with double points and he loses championship by one point.
He should expect to get boos at the remaining races. |

The next race at Monza could be VERY interesting since it's such a fast circuit. Either some fast duels or one of the Mercedes pulls away by 30 seconds. I think Hamilton will be out for blood. I can actually see him dueling with Ricciardo for P1 and Nico in P3

Nico went for it and it got messy. It happens. He owned up to it (has Hamilton EVER really done that?). Then Mr.Nothing-Is-Ever-My-Fault (brakes during qualy??) starts whining on the radio; clearly giving up. Didn't Schumacher race the crappy Mercedes back to 7th in Belgium a few years ago? Hamilton has the fastest car on the grid and gives up right away, just like a child. He's been off for a month and can't even bother to complete the race. Or state his true reasons on the radio instead of coming up with that engine nonsense.
Then he twists Rosberg's words after the race just like a child would. Pathetic. Villeneuve was right (see link below), they snag these children off the lower formulae and put them into F1 cars before they have developed a personality and character. The championship battle between Massa and Hamilton in 2008 was like a game of musical chairs at best. Sigh... http://www.planetf1.com/driver/3213/...tappen-signing

I can't wait to see how things develop in the coming weeks. There will definitely be a lack of trust within the Mercedes garage. I would've concluded the ROS and HAM incident as a racing incident but after reading that Nico intentionally held his line to "prove a point" is just stupid. It puts the race of both cars at jeopardy but more importantly can put a driver at risk. I hope Mercedes/FIA don't leave this unaddressed.
