Here's a hint. There's no hate for the S65 or the way it sounds in what i posted. Read closely. It's rather my disdain for S65 owners and their jealously towards the newer generation of cars. I've been around long enough to see it happen from E36 to E46 (E36 owners called it a fat pig), then E46 to E92 (E46 owners called it a fat pig as well, not a purist M since it wasn't an inline 6), and now E9X to F8X (E9X owners thinking the F8X sounds terrible). Stop being a hater.

I think the E60 M5 will always be the best sounding BMW but the S65 is close behind. Love the savagery. Not sure WTF BMW was thinking with the F8x. Most pure out of all of them will always be the E46. If you can't see this, then you need to read about the design process for this car. M cars are more about marketing now.

Who says I'm jealous of f80 owners?!?! Edit: I meant the hate on e90 owners. And I think the f80 is a great car so don't know if I'm really hating on it. My post above said the f80 is great just honestly it does sound like shit. Especially that burping sound. I also think the e90 is a pig so I've done what I could to make it handle better and lose some weight. I dropped 150 pounds so far.

I like the E90 M3 sound the best. I would rather have the F80 though. Still, the V10 M5 sounds the best. I guess you can see that I live a certain tone to my exhaust note.
Don't really care for Porsche exhaust notes either. (besides this GT3 Cup car I was near) Sound isn't too much of a deciding factor when purchasing a car for me. |

I can hate that the f80 is turdbo, is a bit big, and sounds like crap. I love the performance, it is undeniable, and the looks. Overall great. I hate the weight of the e90, love the sound, and design. Overall great. I hate the e46 dated ass interior. Love the noise (I love rasp)....etc. Overall great. E30..same things..overall great. There's a theme here - M3s have always been my dream car as a kid. I've long wanted to jump ship to Pcar but I'd be pretty happy if I just drove different iterations of M3's for the rest of my life. Looks, performance, nostalgia. I can rip it on track and then go to a nice dinner. But don't get me started on stance shit.

First of all, it seems as if every car besides the F8x (and possibly the E30) have an aftermarket exhaust. No the F8x doesn't sound amazing with the stock exhaust, but neither do any of the the other generations with the exception of the E9x. Throw some downpipes on the F8x and it sounds beautiful to me. With that said, in order, I like:

TBH, in my opinion, the ones doing the bashing are jealous in one way or another. Additionally, most people who bash one of the cars, 99% of the time, have never driven one.

There are also many, many threads on here about e9x owners that have purchased f8x cars and are very happy with their decision. Different people have different likes/dislikes. Doesn't make one better than the other.

You missed the point. He said it was jelousy e9x owners making these statements about f80. I am saying not true. Didn't say many are not happy with the f80
