At the next light I noticed his license plate... "UR-MINE" -it was the perfect plate for that car! At the time it was the fastest production car in the USA. Faster than the Corvette at that time. The FBI bought a bunch of those GNX's for "work". lol

Don't confuse hate with just being a dumbass with an opinion.

A personal plate just another form of personalizing your car. Some choose to do it with a CF spoiler or wheels or stickers and some choose a plate. So what.

I thought about personalized plates... but decided against them.

A series of random numbers and digits is harder for some do-gooder to remember when they call the cops to report someone driving too fast.

Years ago, a newspaper column in Sacramento reported unusual licenses plates. One said TP U BG, which, in court reporter shorthand, is the letters F-U-K.

That can mean either "if you can" or you can pronounce it phonetically.

The owner of the plate, a court reporter, said it was a tribute to her young son's favorite storybook, The Little Engine that Could. For those who are unfamiliar, here it is.

The owner of the plate said it was from the inspirational part where the engine says, "If you can, if you can."

Unfortunately, the train actually said, "I think I can, I think I can," so, after a long appeal, DMV TP-U-BG-ed the court reporter and took away her plates.

California DMV reviews plate requests carefully, running them through automated dictionaries to find anything that might be offensive in any language from Swahili to Klingon... and court reporter shorthand, too, I guess.

Yup and the same people who laugh at tacky decals on a car are prob the same ones who laugh at tacky vanity plates.

Vanity plates are like anything else; if done tastefully or with a satirical pun, they work, otherwise they don't. I once saw a car in Duluth, MN with Hawaii plates that said TOO FAR. That was good. Another was an Infiniti sedan with plates that said 22/7 which is the mathematical symbol of Pi and continues to infinity. That too, was fun for nerds like me who got it.

Just pick something that works for you and run with it. Change it out when you're bored.
