Sure, they can slap on a v10 in a 4 door sedan. Anyone can do that. The C63 is a hell of a car. I would buy one. But the C63 will not and can not beat the M3 in the performance department. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Mercedes Benz aims more towards luxury, while BMW aims more towards performance. You are ignorant for not accepting the fact. You may have a MB and you may just want to make yourself feel better. The only other brand I would consider that should be making BMW sweat, is Audi.

My thoughts on the car that in looks like a Lexus GS/ES from the front and a confused Camry from the back. Just my opinion.

The Japanese flagship has long invited comparison with its Benz S Class counterpart. Now the German brand is irate over the LS430's sincerest form of flattery.

Mercedes-Benz has broken its corporate silence over what it calls "Japanese copycat cars" - but stopped short of calling it plagiarism - after Lexus unveiled its LS430 flagship at last week's Detroit motor show.
The completely new model not only has a strong resemblance to the Mercedes S Class but the Japanese maker has matched the Benz's engine capacity. It now has a 4.3-litre V8, hence the name change.

The original LS400, released a decade ago, invited constant comparisons between the largest Lexus and Mercedes. But not until now has the normally diplomatic German giant accused Toyota's luxury brand of copying its designs.

"People explain to us it is really an honour to have someone copy our cars, but I don't think we see it that way any more," Professor Harald Leschke, the head of design at Mercedes-Benz, said.

"I think it is quite obvious that they admire the design, then try to do it their way. I'm sure in some industries this sort of thing is not legal.

"What surprises us most is that [Lexus] are prepared to do it, in public, and that customers are prepared to buy their copycat cars."

Professor Leschke said the LS430 was Lexus's opportunity to do its own design and head in a different direction "but instead they copy other designs".

"I think it's fair to say all their cars have been influenced by someone else's models," he said. "They don't have a history so they have to copy someone else's."

Mercedes even got into a lawsuit because Lexus copied their seat adjustment design as well.

That's pretty much what spawned my hatred for Lexus; their complete inablility to come up with something original.

That rendering looks stunning. With the new 350 engine that has 300HP, the car will most likely be a big hit here. The lines are very classy with a modern twist. Every new car that comes through these forums is constantly hated on. I happen to own a new c-class, which someone called ugly, and I like it better than the E90. My Z4 is great and all, but Mercedes has really stepped it up when it comes to a balance of luxury and sport. How can you people compare it to a chrysler and a honda. I can just go and say the rear lights on the new BMWs are ripoffs of lexus. Just appreciate the avant-garde design that from the front 3/4 looks better than most coupes on the market today.

You've got a point in saying that many people on here are fanboys, I'd agree with that. However, you're taking things a bit too far. Your base of comparisons for BMW is a Z4 (going by your post), which is by far the worst quality/cheapest interior BMW makes so far (right next to the X3). The rest of your post on which looks better is a subjective matter, especially in regards to the avant-garde design. Btw, my mom has a C63 and I think it looks much better than an e90, but that's not to say that certain e90's don't look better than some W204s.

They're getting better. I'd have a hard time saying this in a few years I'm sure (at least in regards to the AMGs. Standard run-of-the-mill Merc's have a ways to go).
