Basically nothing. I take joy in maintaining my stuff, learning how to do it, buying tools, and saving money. I also have two teenagers that will do my bidding as well.

So, not only is our funny money worth less, and not only do we generally get paid less than our southern cousins, but our costs are higher for everything except maybe property taxes and health premiums.

We use these guys:

Fucking Canada! Bagged milk and $400 pool closing fees!

I just had our pool closed here at the end of Oct. My guy charges $100 to close it using my chemicals. Maybe like an extra $20 if he has to use his. I guess that’s something else I pay for. I maintain it, but just the thought of dragging that huge ass cover out there and installing that…. fuck no. He also puts the needed chemicals and disconnects all the pump stuff. Totally worth it.

I used to do all that stuff. Now, screw that. I have better things to do.

Yard- charges me $90 week, I pay him $120 so he shows up exactly when I want. And he does. I also have a LOT of tall (12') hedges that I want perfect, and 2 big lawns, front and back.
Housekeeper- $200 every 2 weeks.
Valet- Every chance I get.
Cook at home maybe once/week.

I can understand if you like doing, for example, yard work. I used to like it, and would spend 6 hours on a Saturday doing just that. Now, not so much. If I'm not working, I'd rather play my guitar or chase the dogs around the yard or just fart around in general. Life is far too short to trim hedges or vacuum. At least to me.

Edited: I do take care of the pool. That still gives me relaxation, and it's pretty easy. Of course, I don't have to winterize...

Yeah just checked the invoice, nudging $400 for what you just described.

I need to learn how to open, closing makes me edgy because the pipes need to be blown out (hahahaha) but opening, i mean, it can only be so hard right?
