lets not turn this into a smoking is worst than alcohol thread.. Obviously all the alcoholics are trying to get a sense of "It's ok to drink, at least the smokers have it worst" vise versa ... now back to the discussion.. I bought a pack of Kool Milds yesterday.. I failed miserably, gotta admit, I coughed like a baby on the first stoke.. We'll see how far this goes after the fist pack.... Oh by the way, fyi my reason for quitting the first time was because I was really feeling the effects of smoking, shortened breath in the mornings when I wake up, longer recovery time when playing sports, etc... So, my idea is that if it gets out of hand again, I will cut myself off yet once again.

been smoking for maybe 4 years now, since i was 16. quit a few times, maybe 6 months here, 4 months there...when i started my new job this past summer i met an old friend (i had quit smoking for 4 months) first day on the job started smoking with him and been at it ever since again. i dont really feel the effects (shortened breath, no lungs while playing sports, etc) but its not an excuse to say smoking isnt gonna hurt me, of course it will.
i can say im not really addicted, sometimes i will go a few days without smoking just because i dont want one or it doesnt come to my mind...id say on average i would go through 3 king size (25s) packs a month. i should probably quit again...just thinking about all that money being spent on smokes and chronic is just something else

Tonight I'm riding back on the train from the Sabres vs Devils game. It's a hour long train ride. So I get off at my stop and as I'm walking the platform to get to my car I walk by 5 40ish women who have already lit up and are already smoking like chimneys, all within 10 seconds of getting off the train. The sad part was they had a bunch of teens and pre-teens with them. Talk about setting a bad example. I found it all to be very sad.
So my question to you smokers out there is, is an hour of not smoking really all that bad that you need to light up within seconds of being free of a no-smoking zone. It made me wonder what these ladies would do if they were on a long flight to the west coast or Europe that is 6-8 hours long.

i can't see how anyone could get addicted to stoges. they're a social thing for me, and that's that. a pack will last me a month and a half usually.
