FP3 should be where everyone pretty much reveals their capabilities. Still don’t know what each team is testing and tweaking with only 3 days of pre-season testing last week but FP3 should be where we will see final race setup ahead of qualifying.

Red Bull should still be the overwhelming favourite with Mercedes/Ferrari/McLaren/Aston Martin battling it out.

Really depends on fuel loads and engine settings. Alonso topped last years FP2 and FP3.

Merc does look a lot more planted. Imagine Merc takes a giant leap this year and Lewis ends up going to a weaker Ferrari next year.

More interested in race pace, than quali. RB race pace was completely unmatched last year.

Why?
I met MAX and Jos here in Belgium . I can tell you , by nature MAX is actually shy.
In the past , you could find MAX always somewhere quiet the background.
In the beginning , Horner and Marko had to push him in front of the cams with a blush and tension on his face.
But MAX made a big step forwards in front of the cams , when he kicked Ocon's A$$ in the box .

Roll on P3 in about two hours time and somehow I think nearly everyone is sandbagging with MAX predicting a very close quali.
He adds that a few have turned up the boost in their PU so as the day progresses a clearer picture will emerge and settings are not allowed to be changed or set up work done on cars after quali.

I also think quali is gonna be close.
But tomorrow in the race I think the RB20 will display superior race pace, just like they did last year.

MAX may even start below pole to secure a good race pace, we know all cars get quicker each time in the three quali stages.

Yes, and MB also had the engines turned up during FP2. Despite that, Max’s long runs were way quicker and more consistent.

I don't think is represenative at all. RB seems to still be waiting to turn up the wick here and fully expect quali to be 2-3 seconds faster than anything we are seeing in FP3.

This was expected for the alpines and I guess also for the saubers.

Regarding Sargeant...it baffles me why Williams decided to continue with him. Last year was disappointing and showed no progression, and now the gap with ALB is huge again.
Is Sargeant backed by huge sponsors?

HULK showing again that he's an excellent qualifier (like he also showed last year)
