Also, I wouldn't have put in the original post that I wasn't going to name names, and then in my very next post half an hour later, post the guy's name right after I said I wasn't going to do that.

+1 but everyone should remember that OP IS NOT A VENDOR. HE'S NOT A SPONSOR, He's a regular member just like everyone else. How do you expect a random person on this forum to go out of their way to help you when it's [Buyer's] fault. To me, I wouldn't even want to make $60, let alone the $5 OP is probably making from his margin.

I don't know pedals, is the M pedal sold is suppose to be same size as stock?

Good luck to you.

EDIT: With everything you said about how this guy should have done his research, I think it is funny that you started your ad out for the pedals by saying this:
Well... if you think about it... isn't what you're describing at the end researching a product? You've effectly proved that OP knows how to research. That's what everyone is faulting buyer for.

Now if I understand you correctly, you're faulting OP for not "rising above the other party." Aside from not meeting your high standards, is not going above and beyond the standard, wrong? And I'm sure if the buyer were a little more courteous, OP would have refunded without a second thought. We all make mistakes, it's the self entitlement that buyer showed which annoyed well... everyone.

You can't act like a dick and still expect other people be polite to you. If someone were a dick to me, I'd go out of my way NOT to help him. But that's just me, OP is a better person.

I don't know either, but here is what the OP said he told the buyer:

If I had said that, and I came up an inch short like the OP did, I would instantly refund whether I was an individual seller or the biggest BMW parts dealer in the world. If I tell someone something will fit, I'm not going to turn around and blame THEM for not doing their research when I was the one who told them it was going to fit. I would stand behind my word and not try to point fingers when I was wrong.

Go back and read the very first email that persian54 posted from the buyer. The buyer's first email was polite and respectful. If it were my deal, I would have taken care of the issue then and there before things got ugly. He didn't, and BOTH sides got rude and disrespectful. For me it wouldn't be an issue of "helping" the buyer, it would be an issue of standing behind my own word when the dead pedal I said would fit comes up an inch short.

To be 100% clear, based upon this thread, I wouldn't do a deal with the buyer any more than I would do a deal with the seller if I had a chance. Wouldn't do deals with half the folks posting to this thread either. But that's just my own preferences as to who I would trust with my own money. YMMV

He said that thinking you have to remove the stock one.. and place this one there..
when you drill, fitment is like this, which doesn't look too bad IMHO:

(ACS ones, but they're the same size)

Like I stated several times, if he had approached me with respect, I would have refunded him.. but when he turned to name calling and being just plain rude... I was offended.

well, I didn't know that his brake pedal was smaller; I don't have a M3, nor do I go researching parts for it. He told me that he'll take a Manual set and just keep the clutch pedal as a spare
So I was left with this Auto M pedal set.
Make sense?
So I didn't feel a need to do research for someone else's product.

Maybe I should start researching everyone's cars and what reallllly works. Instead of having them do the research. yup. that's completely fair isn't it? (sarcasm)

No refunds. It's not your fault that he doesn't want to drill. Your first response was very professional. I sold a SCT Flash timer to a guy on moddedmustangs.com and he was an idiot like this guy and was asking for his money back, because he didn't know that he had to buy a tune. I told him where to get a tune and other info. He responded back like a douche, so I treated him like a douche.

"it would be an issue of standing behind my own word when the dead pedal I said would fit comes up an inch short."

Please look at the pic.
Do you think that is an inch short and doesn't fit right?
Nothing aftermarket, remember, will ever be 100%
but look at the pics and honestly tell me that the fitment is bad...
if so, every vendor on this forum needs to stop selling pedals...

nonetheless "whathappened"
did you not read that I did agree, at the beginning, to refund him?
and then, a few hours later, basically agree 100% with him? (well, he is yet to reply, but I assume he agrees to a refund)
Sooo, have I met your amazingly high standards now?

"Also, I wouldn't have put in the original post that I wasn't going to name names, and then in my very next post half an hour later, post the guy's name right after I said I wasn't going to do that."
People change their minds.
And I was specifically requested to put his name up so other's don't do business with him.
What, I'm going to respect someone who is being rude to me MORE than people who are my 'friends' (well, virtual lol), or at least show some form of respect?
Where is the logic in that?
Please do elaborate.
Thanks

If I tell somebody a part I'm selling fits, yes, I do the research before I tell them it fits. Otherwise I tell them I don't know.

I didn't know about DCT pedals
I wasn't SELLING him anything
I was ordering it FOR him as a FAVOR
make sense?

also, regarding this dude with the 135... have you not looked at the pictures...??? they fit just fine... or do you disagree with the picture?

btw 'whathappened'

I really go appreciate and respect your opinion.
But I am a little confused because some of your responses don't correlate with everything going on...
such as the DCT/SMG thing... i wasn't selling it to my friend.. i ordered it for him as a favor...
and the 135 auto... you saw the pics ya? they fit pretty well no?

I don't see a picture of the actual pedals sent to the buyer, up against the ones he says are different sized.

You don't either.

In fact, you did absolutely NOTHING to follow up to find out what his complaint was about how they fit.

I would have followed up. You didn't.

They're the SAME EXACT SET from the same exact supplier... who has sold 10000000s.... I just took a few from him

when they arrive, JUST FOR YOU
I'll put them against my ACS one (while still wrapped of course) and PROVE to just YOU that they fit just like those in the pictures :P
Would that meet your standards and make you happy, sir?

Yeah... I'll just stop

I'm done with it.

I enjoy debates, but this is going no where; especially when I've already stated I'm going to refund the buyer...

whathappened is pretending like I'm a business or something... there is little to no money selling stuff on forums compared to the stock market.... so whatever

I could care less whether you refund the buyer or not. The reason I wouldn't do a deal with you were the chance to arise is HOW you handled everything in-between. Regardless of the end result, the process was full-out Drama with a capital "D", and you acted to escalate the problem and pump up the drama repeatedly.

Again, it's just my personal opinion of who I will send my own money to. I've stated what I would have done in the same situation and gave you my opinion. You came here and posted to get other people's opinions. Now you are escalating and pumping up the drama yet again when someone actually gives you the opinions you solicited.

When I say I'm going to do something, I do it. That is what keeping my word means. When I say I'm going to keep something private, I keep it private.

I don't limit keeping my word to just when I explicitly say "I promise" in front of it. I do what I say.

But thanks for warning people that you don't really mean it unless you explicitly say "I promise" in front of what you say you are going to do.

If you wanted to for the "greater good" expose his name, don't promise you won't. Then turn around and expose it and then use "utilitarianism" as your bogus excuse for breaking your word after-the-fact.
