Yeah, the first time you jump alone is pretty crazy. They have to hold on to you the very first time so one climbs out on the wing, then you do and the other one sits in the door. You count down and jump, pretty exhilerating! The first time I jumped without anyone holding me I was doing okay with a slight clockwise rotation. When I finally stabalized and stopped all rotation I looked at my altameter and was about 200ft below my pull zone... whoops (the pull zone was at a safety distance so 200ft wasn't too bad though). Still scary how fast you can fall when thinking of something else and trying to correct It gets more fun after you get the license and are good at control

so i've been at it for a while now, have done 12 jumps, and i had a canopy malfunction on my 2nd unassisted solo jump ever! had to cut away for my reserve chute! crazy shit! i've heard stories from guys on the DZ that have had hundreds or thousands of jumps without a cutaway, and i got one on my 12th jump ever! oh well, hasn't done anything but make me want more.
