Why not say, "here are pictures of my father's cars at our house," and just go from there? It's disingenuous to imply otherwise. We're all car enthusiasts and enjoying looking at cars no matter who owns them or what the circumstances might be.

I think that's where it gets out of hand.

There are a lot of very young kids on this forum. Part of why it gets out of hand is due to a certain level of maturity. If the OP would have started off being open and not attempting to make something appear otherwise, then we wouldn't have had some of these responses. And the OP wouldn't have had to get angry and lash out at those responses.

I'm probably much older than most people here and work in an industry that is filled with very wealthy people. The irony is that none of those people I work with need to advertise their position and any of their material belongings. The wealthier they are, the less they have to prove it.

So let's stop with the "look at me" attempts and instead focus on cars. And that can only happen when people who start threads like these have the integrity to be open and truthful from the very beginning.

I'm sure the OP's father would have taken a completely different approach. He doesn't need to show off anything to anybody or prove anything to anybody. He realizes there's no point in that. And that's the difference between actually owning something and pretending to own something.
I understand your point, and in a sense what you said is quite accurate. However, in multiple threads I have stated that my father is the owner of the Ferrari not me.

I should have played the stock market when I was 18, I'd have a Bugatti by now!
It's not that simple.... as the saying goes it takes money to make money. Simply investing in the stock market is a way to make money (did it for several years when I'm younger), but unless you have say 10 grand, 100 grand, a million, etc etc you can invest... it's just not that simple when you start.

The issue that drives me nuts is kids like this will come back in 10 years and say every dollar they have is money that they 'earned' and they got it through the stock market...

Yes they used their parents money to get it, but they didn't actually earn a single starting dollar of it.

Different strokes, yada yada.

Sorta like being handed over a company because you're the owner's father, and saying you worked your way up.... meh

What I said was not accurate in a sense, but simply accurate.

As you mature you might come to understand the virtue of humility. Respect needs to be earned, and by you. It's not something that can be handed over to you.

Let me ask you why do you list your father's cars in the "what you drive" section of your avatar? What does that mean? What do you think it implies? What is your purpose in doing so?

There is one reason and one reason only. Think about it.

I'm not Muslim, but I came across these some time ago: “No one has ever eaten any food which is better than that which he had earned through working with his hands." "To earn for show or pride is the devils way.”

You must be envious, or just plain stupid. I do earn the money, I was given a certain amount of money to begin my investing with. I have been investing since I was 16 and whether I make money or not is reliant on myself. Your two examples are completely idiotic as well, maybe if you played to office politics instead of complaining about them, you might be happier with your current situation. I bet it feels good to hear this from an 18 year old. Funny how this works, isn't it? You act as if you know anything of my families history, this thread use to be interesting to me, and now it is quite a bore because of people like you. In 10 years I will be considering if I should retire at 32 or work just because I enjoy it. '

Regards,

- The 18 year old who knows more about the business world then you do.

1. Your father's home and cars are sweet.
2. Adults aren't fooled by your posts.
3. People who actually own the wonderful things you have posted do not behave in the manner you have conducted yourself in.

Father came in and saved a struggling medical company that was almost bankrupt. It has a market cap of about 8billion now. Dont want to say which one obviously.

Last time I did that a member of the board complained because my named was posted for some obscene reason and he saw it.

My parents know absolutely nothing about investing, I'm the one who does all the research and puts in the time and effort to create profits. But I understand what you mean, however my father probably spends more time on a plane in a week travelling for business (which is not fun btw) then you work in a week. So it goes both ways.
So you want us to believe that your father, who runs a multi-billion dollar company, knows nothing about investing and is taking investment advice from a 16 year old (you stated you've been doing it for two years...lol)?

Maybe your father should be spending less time on the plane and more time teaching his son not to be such a douche.

Maybe it's time for you to get that Louie Vuitton bag you got for 3rd birthday and pack and move on from here.

Your logic is crap and you come off as MAYBE being smart enough to one day run a dry cleaners. One store not a chain.

I hate to use this but it is what it is and unless you learn some humility get used to hearing it for life. TOOL.

He doesn't need to learn humility because he knows more about the business world than you do. But he can't say what business cause a member of the board companied about it. I mean, he helped his dad save a medical company which has a market cap of over 8 billion! (IT'S OVER 9000!!!) He doesn't need to be humble. I mean the predictability of the stock market has been very good to his portfolio don't you know? Forget humility, virtue, truth, and respect because he's rich damn it! Oh also, you don't wanna piss him off because his lack of humility might allow himself to tell you go to fuck yourself twice in a single post.

This is called sarcasm, surely the OP isn't stupid enough to think otherwise now is he?
