i'd say about half my friends have jobs and the other half don't (after graduating 2010). some of them i think are just lazy and say they want jobs and say they're searching, but i bet they're not. as a science major, there are i guess some limitations in what i can apply for, but i did find jobs at Stanford SOM and i'll be applying to some for next year. i'm currently doin research under UC Davis SOM, but i plan to move back to the south bay in august...
as for the business/econ end, a friend of mine went to hk for some i-banking interviewing, but didnt hear back. if you've done internships, have you've tried to contact the places you've done internships with? the majority of my friends without jobs are those without many or any internships, while those who have jobs have had a few pretty unique experiences (ie abroad internships in financial centers like HK). try applying to Tesla...my friend works there. i think they're always looking for new hires but their interview process is pretty rigorous...

forgot to add, i had a friend who went to wake forest...did pretty poorly in school 2.4 gpa? maybe 2.7... can't remember. but he did internships each summer, and ended up finding a job at HP, where he interned during a previous summer. so yes networking is important, but it's also internships/experiences... goodluck!

I was actually in HK for the past 5 months. Didn't bother looking for jobs ( I don't mind living there) because the salary for fresh grads is lower than that of someone working at McDs in the states. But then again, Hong Kong is very well established, they don't necessarily need talent from abroad. :/ Quote:
