CTS-V and C63 are all going for $5k-$7k above sticker. Can't say I'm happy about this.
Hmmm.

I know this wasnt on the list but what about a lightly used GTR? Pick them up in the low 60s now the 2012s are out.
Its Japanese so it will be reliable. The maint is a little high, but its more then worth it for the performance. |

Late to the party but inserting my opinion nonetheless.
Test drove ISF, C63, and M3 back to back: 1) First time and last time I'll drive a Lexus. They're not for me. 2) C63: incredible engine. A bit slow on the transmission shifts. Suspension way too stiff for LA freeways. (if I had the means at the moment, I would pick up a used clk black series for a track car, the motor is that righteous) but not a DD for me. 3) M3: only thing holding it back as a perfect DD, is asymal fuel economy. I'd go for a 1M instead. Later that week I test drove a CTS-V coupe with a stick. Had the OMG power like the C63 but the road manners of an M3. Fuel economy is a strike against for DD. The coupe had the exact options I would pick which meant a MSRP of ~$70K. Bit too expensive for daily grind commuting. Used AM Vantage. Maintenance prices are the killer. It was a ~$110K car. Even though depreciation makes them relatively cheap on the used market, they still command exotic car maintenance prices. Parts and labor don't get less expensive just because the car gets older. One can buy a used 2005-6 low mileage Maserati GranSport all day long but can one afford the annual and bi-annual services that range from a few hundred dollars for an oil change to the $1800 for a full service. How about the $5K clutch job very 20K miles. These prices mimic those for the baby Aston.

The 20K mile service is the one big service cost for the car but besides that its not that big of a deal esp when you compare the performance to anything else. |

The car is too new to pass judgement beyond what is already known, I do not for-see a reliable efficient car. Fast+Reliable+Cheap = pick two

I looked into GTR significantly, prior to getting my 5 series, and know all the problems plus the full cost of maint over the maint intervals. The car it rock solid reliable as long as your not using launch control 24/7. Besides this car is NOT A DRAG car, its built for a road course. If you want a drag car I suggest something else. Its like the same people bitching about their trannys and clutches going on on their Evos when using launch control, when I use to have my Evo IX. A few of my good friends are instructors at Exotic Car Racing here in Vegas and they said the GTR is hands down the most reliable and fastest cars out there (the 458 Italia is close) and nothing comes close for the money. |

The Jaguar XK is a good car, the reliability and resale is the best you can find for a Jaguar but the simple fact that you are looking at a C63 and 911 tells me that you would still like a bit more sport than it is capable of.
It is a good cruiser but unless you go for an XKR, it lacks sportiness. If you are waiting for a bit, you could go for the XE that will be launched at your budget.

Did u consider a salvaged Enzo???
That was a joke. I am shocked with all the GM support. I have owned many and now we all we own them thanks to the recent bail out... Anyway, in my opinion, the the CTS-v's come across as to plasticy to me. (I must admit I have note been in or driven the new model CTS-V) maybe something I need to revisit. Also IMHO when I buy new, reliability is not much of a factor, all the dealerships, in general, will treat you good in the case you need them. I look more at mech. concerns when buying used. Maybe I am a little strange, but when I am under warranty and something acts up...I knowing that they are covering the bill. I think you are in a tough price range so close to buing a used "supercar" also close to buying GM..... Good luck, I would lease the new M5.

OP, you dont want to waste money on taking care of the car?
Then FORGET about the Aston and Porsche. 2nd, the best one that fits your needs that WILL also be fun to ride in is the BMW 35 or C63.
