The G37 put down 287 rwhp. A lot of the 335's dynoed that number over and over again. The rwtq is 50 lbs less than the 335. You only proved that the G37 will be slower than the 335...and if you read the actual test drive they said they don't even expect the G37 to be faster than the 335.

g37 has more torque to redline. read it again.. basicly it will be a drivers race without two turbo's this is a v6 to be rekon with!
once aftermarket hits on these bad boys.. alot of cars will be in trouble. i personally like the look of the 335i better |

Maybe so, but it will cost a G37 driver thousands of dollars to mod it so it will be able to beat a stock 335i. However, for just $1,300, a PROCede 335i does 0-60mph in 4.5 sec. and the 1/4 mi. in 12.5-12.8 sec. @ 108+mph...even a somewhat heavily modded G37 with the VQ won't be able to touch that (unless you add another $5k+ for a FI tt or sc). I doubt many ppl who choose the '08 G37 will opt to spend another $5k+ for a FI tt or sc add-on, so 99.5% of G37 drivers will still be slower than a stock BMW 335i, and of course PROcede 335i's will blow the G37 away.

Dude, max torque on the G37 was 236 lbs. The 335's dynoed about 280 lbs of torque. I wouldn't brag about the aftermarket for the NA G37, because we all know that Forced Induction engines are a lot easier and cheaper to mod. Am I missing something here?....

stock: 265 WHP & 286 lb.-ft. RWTQ XEDE: 322 WHP & 378 lb.-ft. RWTQ Also, for boostedg35, I know the potential mods out there for the VQ since I had an '04.5 G35 Sedan with mods like the 3/8" Plenum Spacer, Z-tube/K&N filter, Coupe midpipe, Grounding Gear, etc. Aside from a FI tt or sc add-on, the only other things you can do to the the VQ (to add HP/TQ) are an aftermarket exhaust, intake, Technosquare ECU chip reflash (which still won't add that much HP/TQ), high-flow cats, headers, downpipes, pullies, and a few other minor things (that cost plenty of $$ too)...nothing really spectacular that will get you more than a few more ponies. The VQ engine is a phenomenal NA engine (one of the best, imho), but it's very close to being tapped out (unless you bore it out, increase displacement -- which Infiniti did from 3.5L to 3.7L, or add FI).

Is your female co-worker still only your co-worker after that race?

On the M5board all the time.... Still trying to help organize races with people who make big claims. Oddly enough, I have never been able to organize one. We wanted to run some procede 335is versus stock M5 / M6s but people shyed away.... Same here.... some guy lays down some talk with a turbo G35, let's see what it can do.

Any takers?? Procede 335i vs. boosted G35 will be good. Hey BoostG35 - is the money necessary? We just want to see the cars run. Please be safe and do it at a track or closed course. Drag strips should be good as they give timeslips and we can use both the E/T and trapspeed to do some analysis....

no offense.... if i have to drive far then of course i want it worth it. i have a bunch of mustang people in utah that want to race me for cash and if i run and they find out what i got then thats not good. you know and i agree with the track. cheers |

Well, Boostedg35 seems very confident for a win over a PROcede 335i; given the fact that he must know that a PROcede 335i runs ~ 4.5 sec. 0-60mph and 12.5-12.8 sec. @ 108+mph 1/4 mi., I think he must know his FI tt G35 (and whatever else he has in mods on that car) may just be faster. If so, that's one fast car!

He already said he is putting down 420 rwhp, while the 335 with Procede is at about 330 rwhp. This would be a race about who puts more money into their car...

Anytime you get a car into the 12's like some Procede cars have done, it is almost always a driver's race. I can get into the 13's with my M6 like a chump. Besides, the S4 has more power and a stock 335i can lay it to waste. I have confidence in the 335i power delivery (with and without the Procede).

But this G35 is a different story: The hp difference is about 110. Plus the G35 is RWD, just like the 335. Anyway....let's see them race...
