Would the parents come back and stay with the nest after all their chicks are gone? Maybe that was the last chick that flew out of the nest. If so, it seemed to fly pretty well. |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mourning_Dove
The eggs from the first picture look more like robin eggs, and the chicks look like robins too, but the pictures of the bird that was laying on the eggs in the nest are clearly mourning doves. |

We viet eat that shit too..it's great can't believe that was one of the thing on fear factor...cause that asian girl was like, "Oh shit, this is a delicacy for me" for those not familiar with Balut...it is the egg that has a chicken fetus inside...almost about to hatch... i love it when i bite it and i get that crunchy beak stuck in my teeth...:rocks:

Well what asians eat is swallow's nest. The swallow makes the nest from the spit of the male swallow and it is a delicacy.

Okay, I feel obligated to add to this post now. I was cutting my grass the other day and this duck came flying out from under a bush in my back yard. Look what I found We've already named them, Louie I,II,III,IV and Dewie I,II,III,IV and Huey I,II,III,IV, that should make 12.
And if that wasn't enough, there are these 2 doves making a nest right outside my home office window in the gutter (that pile of stuff in the corner). So while I'm slaving away in the office and browsing e90post.com I watch these two make a nest. Unfortunately, if we get a big rain these guys will probably go down the drain. Sorry for the big pictures, I'm a rookie at this. Last edited by Fortbimmer; 12-06-2007 at 10:57 AM.. |
