He said "food only" not "lunch only." He spends $15/day on lunch which isn't that extraordinary.

$50/week isn't really all that much.
Making your own lunches and grocery shopping help cut that number down a lot, but if you're concerned that $50/wk for lunch is somehow too much, don't be. I think the best part of preparing lunch is that generally you can make sure you're eating something much more fresh, balanced, and healthy than what is generally available at all these joints out here. Fucking snow. Every time I look out the window, I get more pissed. Looks like today's commute will resemble a cross between bumper cars and slip 'n' slide. I can't wait. |

$50/week? lol. i buy breakfast and lunch every day. dinner at least 4 days a week.
my girl can't cook to save her life, plus she works in retail, so her schedule is all over the place, which means i have to get my own food when she works late.

No, i'm just saying that I wish I was only spending that much on food. I easily drop $120-$150/week on food for myself, and this is not counting when I go out to eat with the gf, or also buy food for her.

It's hard to save money on food, especially if you don't live at home where parents can cook for you. I usually keep bread, pb/j, and oatmeal at work for breakfast so it saves me money there but unless you make a ton of pasta and eat it everyday for lunch, it's gonna be hard to spend under $50 per week for lunch. Add the costs for dinner everyday and you start to miss the days when you used to find food in the fridge at all times when living at home
