Anyone went down in size on their wheel size? I'm considering going from 20s to 19s on fatter rubber for more comfort on my loud and fidgety X1 M35.

If you have the m pro pack, the only piece that won’t fit is the spoiler. All other pieces will fit

Looks sharp! Are you planning with bigger wheels or drop to compliment the new look?

Ordered the full set today. I’ll probably get it in a couple months. Can’t wait to take some pictures.

Nice! Yeah approx 2 months is realistic.

Good luck with the installation and looking forward to seeing the final result

Just got my X1 M35 last week. So far it’s a blast to drive. It was a long 12 weeks but certainly worth the wait.

My X1 with new wheels/tires. I struggled trying to decide size and offset. These are 20 x 8.5 with +35 offset and I think they look great. The green paint gets lots of compliments.

I am lost in trying to find wheels and tires because I’m just not familiar with how it works.

If you could share a link to the rims you got that would be helpful. And a photo looking down the side of the car so we can see how the wheel sits. Thanks.

Google some articles about wheel offset, it should give you a better understanding of what wheels fit better. Seriously. I was a wheel idiot in the past and relied on one of my mechanic friends to tell me what wheels to order in the past. I'll try to explain offset just a little bit here, but the online articles have much better descriptions and diagrams.

Wheel offset in a nutshell is where the mounting surface of the wheel (where it meets the hub) lines up relative to the center line of the wheel when viewed in a cross section. Positive offset moves the mounting surface of the wheel closer to the outside, which pushes the rest of the wheel inwards. Too much positive offset and your wheel will hit the suspension components, fenderwell (when turning), or other components. Negative offset is the opposite, pushing the wheel farther out of the fender. On lowered cars this can be an issue because under load or when going over bumps, the wheel can make contact with the fender.

I am running 19x8.5" wheels with a +35 offset(35mm positive offset), and this brings the edge of the wheels right to the edge of the fender. More positive offset on the same size wheels means the wheel would move in towards the suspension, and there is some play room there if you wanted wheels that weren't at the edge of the fender as much. You can search my post history for photos of what this looks like.

Thanks, I’m very familiar with your posts, I think it was your posts about spacers that got me looking at wider wheels or spacers. The offset is something I did just recently start to understand.
Assuming my stock wheels are 8” I’d love at least 8.5 wide. But then I don’t know what tires to get. Also was curious if there were any oem black wheels that are 19x8.5 and have a positive offset and the 5/112 bolt pattern. I can’t seem to find anything.

There might be, but honestly I'd rather get a quality set of forged aftermarket wheels. Most OEM BMW wheels are going to be cast, with forged wheels they'll be lighter and you'll have a larger selection of designs to choose from, and they'll be generally close in price to a new set of OEM wheels from a dealer. As far as tires go, if you stick to a tire that's at or very close to the OEM diameter of 704mm, you're good to go.

I was looking for that stat everywhere and I couldn’t find it. So 704mm is the diameter on all x1 wheels regardless of rim size?

Yes, as long as you stay at that diameter for all 4 wheels you should not have an issue with TPMS or xDrive.
