I believe it’s missing the plastic surround insert… it was mentioned in an earlier thread

Exactly what timesone said. It’s the same wheel with and without the plastic trim around it

Thanks! I didn‘t know that.
Without the cover the wheel looks a lot smaller - bit lost to be honest.

But to each his own.

Might be from the lighting and the light reflection of the plastic trim

Sports seats in USA are a $400
Option in 28i & offer nice support on sides of seat. They are comfortable as long as Your “boot”/rear, fix’s between the side bolsters.

WOW. I did not realize that. Still don’t understand why BMW excludes them from USA builds.

Makes no sense at all. Can’t be cost cutting measures like other things they do such as center console hinges correctly positioned for left hand drive & not altering for right hand sidee steering wheel. WOULD MAKE ME CRAZY 😡 MAD

BMW thinks America is not ready for U11 X1 with:

real leather seats (real = not PETA approved)

mild hybrid engine

full EV iX1

sliding rear seats

beige headliner

yellow rear blinkers

real full adaptive LED headlights

I can go on with another 17 or more X1 features/options that are not available for the US/Canada version of the U11 X1, but I think you get my point.

That’s a lot of difference between European and US market. But to be fair, there’s a lot of difference in price too. A full spec X1 23i (note: 28i not available in Europe) costs the equivalent of 83,000 USD

Out of curiosity, what colour are the rear blinkers in the US?

we have the ugly red rear blinkers. In fact, all BMWs in the US have them. (so do most Audi cars and SUVs here) very, very sad.

at least it's not as bad as the X5's rear blinker, which is also the brake light.

I don't understand why there's no leather available - it is offered in the US on all other models, and was previously available on the X1.

No hybrid / EV really makes no sense.

Sorry to tell you, but: Anthracite Headliner > Beige Headliner

I would definitely prefer amber turn signals, but lots of automakers are moving in this direction.

No way BMW is putting full adoptive headlights on the X1 in the US; they don't even offer the "adoptive" lights that swivel around curves.

Damn that’s ugly. Is there a reason for making them like this? Some kind of road/traffic law maybe?

nope. Mercedes has the proper amber/yellow rear turn signals like everybody else.

I guess BMW and Audi wanted to be like ugly American GM and Ford cars with red rear blinker lights?

It's easier for most people to see yellow blinker lights, so I think this is also a safety issue. Unfortunately, BMW doesn't seem to think so.

Especially on that X5 in the video! if an X5 driver is indicating to turn left, the driver behind them will take longer to notice the brake light as it’s only visible from the right rear lights since the left rear lights are being occupied by the turn signal.

Absolutely daft!

I can’t remember if it was you who posted it, but I now understand the guy trying to install the European version of the rear lights!
