Miss this thing! '89 318i M40
Man it was a rust bucket when I got it, but looking back - had a great time working on and driving it around. SO slow but so much character and 80's quirkiness.

My first BMW was a 2014 428i in Melbourne Red. Was in love with it and sad when I let it go for a far more practical 2019 Civic HB, because I was driving 30,000 miles a year at the time. I just traded in that Civic for my new 2022 BMW since I now work from home and only drive ~5000 miles a year now.

Eh I will just go through them all
First car was a red 96 Ford Contour. It sucked I wish I could have at least had the SVT version. (2 years?) Next Car was a 2002 (I think) Mitsubishi Galant that I only got to build credit with. (6 months) My dream car at the time was a Mustang so I got this Dark blue 2001 Mustang GT. I could have got the 6 cylindar sooner but I held out for the GT. It had some pep 302 ft/pds of torque. (18 months) I traded it in for a Jaguar X Type because I wanted AWD in the winter as well as a little more luxury. I know they get a lot of hate in the press but I didn't find it too bad and it held together just fine. I think I had this for about 2 years. Finally around 2008 I got an 08 Interlagos Blue 328i. Non x Drive, I wanted RWD again. I loved it. The miles were adding up and I jumped ship. for around a year I owned a Merc CLA. I was not impressed with it. It was FWD, the interior was ok (seats were nice) It had some neat things like self parking but it seemed dumb to have the proportions of a coupe in a sedan. It didn't work on a car that small for me. My wife got pregnant so I traded in the Merc for a Honda Accord. It was a smart move. I didn't lose a penny on trade in and my payments were so low I was able to make triple payments for a while. Had it 18 months. After that I traded that in for a 2014 328i. X Drive. It was nice but dull. I put a JB+ in it and it was a little better, but eh. this one was boring. Living in the NE I made a compromise to get back to BMW with X Drive but I traded that in after maybe 18 months. Then I found this super nice 2014 428i M Sport in Gray. (non x drive, super rare find in the NE) It was a California car that had everything EXCEPT the $600 upgrade to Brembo Brakes. I was pissed about that. I tuned the heck out of it, JB4 intake, charge pipe, intercooler, downpipe, and axel back. When it was running well it was really a treat. A ton of Pep up to about 80, started winding down at 100, took forever to hit the 135mph top speed. I was pissed because it SHOULD have had the top speed raised to 155, but it was not set properly within the first 20 miles and then it is hard locked without a full tune. Also did Bimmercode and more on this one. It could spin a bit of 2nd in Sport plus. I wish I sold it here to an enthusiast but Carvana last year made too good/convenient an offer. Had this one for 3 years. Finally now, I have dream car (can afford) 1a. My E92 M3. I would love to get my dream car (can afford) 1b. An E46 M3. and then a boring daily like the Honda again. I label them as (can afford) because they are reasonable. Dream car (can't afford) would be a Porsche Reimagined by Singer. Those are heavenly! But I count my blessings to have my 1a. can afford for certain! Otherwise, I think I need to hit the lotto, or see if they take house trade ins as a Down Payment! It is, I have a 21 Accord Touring as a commuter. I just sold my 2019 Civic Type R, for a $7K profit, and a 2018 C7 Grand Sport 7MT. Nothing too fancy

I am alive!
Convertible is awesome ...except that it can't do track events except autocross. But I don't regret it. Charles

My 1st BMW was a 1987 E24 M6, heavy as can be but just a joy to drive on the highway, in fact the faster you drove the better it handled.
Unfortunately, the electrical/electronic glitches plagued the car to the point I had to get rid of it.
