These complaints are just issues with new cars, not specific to electric cars. Subscriptions and all that garbage are becoming the new way of doing business, EV or ICE. Frustrating, but unless regulations come out that stop this sort of crap, it's only going to get worse.

Saying top tier is simply a marketing gimmick is assuming all refiners produce exactly the same quality gas, no difference between them. I find that hard to believe. There are certainly those that produce inferior gas just as some manufacturers supply better fluids, lubricants and oils.

Sure, except the refineries all produce for all the gas stations, and the differences is in the additive packages, not the base fuel. There's not like, tanks for shell, BP, Texaco, Chevron, Sam's club, Walmart, Costco, etc at the distribution hubs. They have tanks for gasoline, and the gas station brands put their specific additive package in.

I'm not sure about the gas station adding the additives, that's what we are told but I presume it's more likely the fuel tankers drive back to their specific depot after tanking up and the additives are added there so it can slosh about mixing in with the fuel on the journey as they drive to the gas station.

No wonder there is no action of building new charging stations. Where are the money trees?? The full price for a 350-kilowatt station that can recharge a car at petrol-pump speeds is close to US$700,000.

I sort of assume they inject the additives into the tanker fill at the distribution center. I doubt they're doing it at the gas station. That said, it also means that a tanker can't service more than one brand of station on a run.

I've noticed some brands seem to use their own branded tankers, and.others use in branded ones. No idea what that means, but the loves and pilot tankers are cool.

Yeah, I said the same shit in this thread over a year ago. The EV charging business model doesn't work. Gas stations have throughput. Customers come in every 5 minutes and buy their Slim Jim's, Cheetos, and Dr. Pepper and are on their way. EVs are parked for 40 minutes absorbing electrons. It's still the same 5 minutes to buy the junk food and drink. The rest of the 35 minutes is wasted revenue time.

A fast moving nickle is better than a slow moving dime...

To be truthful I have no idea how they do it, I would hazard a reasonable guess as when the empty tankers leave for the main gas distribution centre the additive has already been put into the empty tanker, then the fuel at the distribution centre is added and they go straight to the gas station that's waiting for it.

So how many gallons does does take to put out the fire of an ICE truck? Maybe 500 max? So that would mean even if an ICE truck were 10x more likely (which I'm sure it's not) to burst into flames, the EV trucks would still use 10x more water overall.

I don't follow his channel but know he is another sort of 'Jay Leno' type obviously with a few shekels to his name.
