Is it somehow human nature? Yesterday, we were merging and behind a tractor trailer. Woman in Honda crv (hate the demographic of it's typical driver) is left of the tractor trailer doing 60 which is 5 under.

I move to left of the crv, pass her and maintain 85 for less than a minute. Move to the right. Next thing I know the crv passes me, and moves into my lane, once again, 60.

Seriously, what is it? Maybe this woman is a triathlete and competitive and treated my passing her like a race? There has to be a real reason why people behave like that.

Multiply that by 40 people per square mile and you got the entire San Gabriel Valley... NOBODY drives AT the speed limit, always below and it takes FOREVER to get places. If you take local streets, it takes almost 20 minutes to go ONE mile, and even at midnight, I thought I was speeding and I look down... 70 (with BMW skew not fixed yet so 65).

I was going to type up a similar thing, but you've saved me the effort. Some asshat in a Look-At-Me Dodge pickup came tearing up beside me today just as I was coming up behind a semi. I'm thinking he'll pass me in time for me to pull out and pass the semi without getting out of the cruise control, but no, asshat decides to match my speed just long enough to force me to kill the cruise until asshat was past me enough for me to pull left.

It was nice driving on an empty highway again, though, after two weeks of crowded Brit highways.

Here's mine, in reverse:

This guy that comes every weekend parks ACROSS the three parking spaces that face mine, so that his car is just inside the covered part, I guess to avoid the dripping air conditioners - I live in one of those units but I doubt it is mine dripping anyways even if it were it's not my problem - but that's not the point.
Now his parking like this blocks how I normally park, which is to head into his space, then reverse once into mine and done - so convenient. Now that he actually parks in his space - I think parts of his car were at least several inches outside his space - this greately inconveniences me. I think he is being a total dickhead - who does he think he is? Nice, shiny BMW - acting all boss - he only comes once a week, how dare he treats this place like his home? He might not even own those spaces (or pay maintenence)!
What a city dickwad.. thinks he can act this way just because he has a little money.
So I wrote him a nasty note: "For the convenience of others, please park inside your space."
Hope he rots in hell.

Came to work this morning to find someone parked mostly on the line between spaces but just far enough over near the rear to make the space next to them unusable. We're already short of spaces here and this meathead takes up two without being blatant enough to get a ticket from the uni police. How hard is it to park BETWEEN the lines?

A lovely man shouted at me yesterday, since I took the last wide space, a space his wife who was driving could've gotten their car into. Poor bloke, stuck with the kid in the back seat while wife dearest paid no attention to the road, too busy texting.

I was polite as usual while unloading my offspring out of Peter. Funny situation though, I was apparently risking his kids life by making them walk, and I don't think he ever registered I had two with me.

Haha. I don't watch any sports none what so ever, and as the only Finn on the planet I have no idea what an F1 car looks like. I can how ever name three people who have driven in the series, so after that change of subject is in order.

I do an excellent blank stare when people here ask me my view about football game, I know Seahawk is a bird, and I know everything there is to know about baseball, which is that they wear more clothes than in basketball. Later is played on a floor and and I would be happy if my kids joined a chess club and never made me take them to any practices none what so ever.

Ice hockey was my sole exception in this rule, mainly because I always envied anyone who got to play that and not be stuck in a stupid skirt listening to a coach with a squeaky voice.
