Blantons use to be one of my favorites until it became all crazy. You can't find it anymore and people are trying to get stupid money for it now.

Just picked up Macallan Classic Cut again, but the 2020 vintage, so when I get around to it, I plan to compare it to the 2019 (which I have a little of left).

Yeah blantons is hard to get now. Luckily, I was able to get two from my local Costco last year. Tastes so good and it goes quick with that little bottle haha.

Yeah, by crazy money I just meant significantly over retail and I believe when it was readily available it was in that $60-$70 price range. Now if I google it you see it going for anywhere from $100-$300 and I didn't check to see if they actually had it in stock.
One local place has it listed for $62 but its only for select something or the other club members by invitation only or some shit. Gimme a break. |

It's a very solid bottle for $40. The other variants get better as well. I wasn't a huge fan of the single barrel select, but the store picks and barrel proof stuff is damn near impossible to beat.

Agree except maybe not "stupid" at $80 just over priced, going rate on local secondary market is roughly $80-$100. I've got three and when general stock of bottles gets lower I will likely be a trader. Prefer trades over $$ as it takes care on two problems at once.
One of the best for available, reasonably priced bottles.

New Riff is where we used to have our bourbon club meetings (think liability was too much for them) and they gave us our club members a chance to buy 1 of 800, 15 year bourbons (from MGP in Indiana). Price was $200 and proceeds went to bar and restaurant workers. I bought one, then found out secondary value was far more so I traded the New Riff 15 for the other 4 bottles below plus $450, figure I bought it for $211 with tax and traded it for roughly $750 total value. Tried my friends bottle and just didn't think it was worth the roughly $45 per drink-

Some of this is selling local, not national so I can require meetup at or near my house and exchange/cash being simple and at least with people that know the person I am dealing with. I have never dealt with national as the hassles and risks aren't worth it to me. The people in the group get pretty upset when prices get up to national level. Also sold it as soon as I got it and this likely hurt the value some as our club got probably at least 100 bottles local and a lot of people were selling them local.

Man - don't know how you drink that, lol. Tastes like wet charcoal soaked in salty mud to me.
