No, BMW has never put an F1 engine in a production car. He probably just meant the high revving V8 and V10 from the last generation (Exx) M passenger cars, as he mentioned in his post.
Encouraging to hear they won't make the standard model wait for the "coupe" series model, then releasing the two M variants simultaneously. Hopefully this foreshadows the next generation M3 coming before the next generation M4 (and 4 Series for that matter) as well. |

I wonder if the US isn't getting the touring model based on the fact that all North American 3ers will come from Mexico or if they just sell that poorly.

Grammatically true......however, it could be argued they did, but just the other way around, by putting a production based engine into a F1 car instead

Grammatically? I guess you mean semantically true.

No one knows yet. There isn't anything definite out there yet to say March or July.
Again no one knows yet. The only thing the M3 might get is the new style corona rings lights. It won't be getting new tail lights. |

The new BMW 6/8-Series has been spied - is the EOP for the F12, F13, and F06 still late 2018 - early 2019?

Complete overview above the G32 6GT Infos I have so far for a better overview:
ATTENTION! This information I have are only for 630d's with German specification! ATTENTION! These Informations are without a guarantee. I have very good sources but you never know - Equipment features such as Remote Parking, Driving Assistant Plus, Display Key, Gesture Control are, of course, optically available. - Lines: Non-Line, Sport Line, Luxury Line and M-Sport. - 2-axle air suspension, Executive Drive and Integral Active Steering (xDrive compatible) optional - New color(s), e.g. Royal Burgundy Red Brilliant effect, other colors, leather colors and interiortrims are the same as from the G11/12/30 - in Europe, among others (like ynguldyn already said the 640i) available the 630d xDrive with B57O and 265 hp - M-Sportbrake is available - xDrive is of course optional - Navigationsystem Professional is optional. Either it comes without Navigationsystem from the factory or with Navigation Business, same as in the G30, standard but I don't know that at this time - According to my information there will be no laserlight for now - Car cames standard with: Standardseats (Sport- and Comfortseat optional) Automatic Gearbox Steptronic (Sportautomatic optional) LED-Headlights (adaptive LED-Headlights are optional) Leather is standard (except Alcantara in the M package) Standard Interior trim is Oxide Silver dark matt Standardrims are 17" 618 V-spoke (from the G30) - Rimdesigns so far: M-Wheels (both from G11/12): 19“ M647 bicolor/mixed tyres 20“ M648 bicolor/mixed tyres other rimdesigns: 17" 618 V-spoke 18“ 619 Multispoke with runflat 18“ 684 V-spoke 19“ 644 Multispoke/mixed tyres/with runflat 20“ 646 W-Spoke/mixed tyres 20“ 649i V-Spoke/mixed tyres Individual Last edited by 4BMWGarage; 12-06-2016 at 10:10 AM.. I see that the F82 M4 goes EOP 06/20...
If all you wise sages out there had to speculate is there going to be that yearish gap in production like there was during the transition from E9X? Thanks. |

Every M product in history has trailed the initial release of the series product on which it is based by a year or more (usually more, in fact, and sometimes quite a bit more). This is not going to change.

So just assuming here, since 2013 was the last M3 Coupe and the F82 was 2015. Does that mean that even when the F82/F83 EOP is 2020, the newer model will not be out until 2022? I mean model wise, 2022. So the life of the F82 and F83 will be good for at least another 7 years, considering a 2 year wait for all kinks to be worked out? I forgot, meaning if I get my 2017 it will be good for another 7 more years before I get another 2020 M4 or what-not in 2022.
This is my mentality anyway, bearing issues, spun hub issues, etc. |
