I'll keep my eye out. I usually lean towards rye over anything wheated but it's worth a try. I know I've seen it somewhere.

Elijah Craig is on my to try list. Seems like the consensus is that it is overly sweet though? What's your take.

In the €/$30 bourbons area, I really like this one. It's sweet, but I don't think it's too sweet.
I also like to drink the salty and peaty ones very much.

It was ok, when it comes to Japanese whiskey I tend to go for the lighter stuff. This one was more of a traditional whiskey. But for the price, I'm not mad at all.

The pot still seems to be a like or hate without too much in between. I like it myself but it is definitely not worth over $40 unless you just want the bottle.

I think I'm going to pour myself a Lagavulin 16 tonight...I've got this hankering for it. Last few nights have been the Macallan 12 Triple Cask, which is excellent too, but I want something with more punch tonight. After the sushi anyways.

BIG fan of the pot still reserve. Yes, the genie bottle is neat but I’m vexed with anyone not appreciating this. Every time I do a tasting of sub $200 bottles and over $30 it wins quite often.

You need a better selection then. I can name 40-50 better options under 200 off the top of my head.

Always down for more, but taste is subjective. Sure, it’s only about 7-10 people that have enjoyed it, but for me that’s a decent amount.

I like Eagle Rare and Blanton's
Maybe a little watered down and on the smooth/ sweet side. Probably why I like pot still.
Also like Makers and Buff. Trc.
But also have Bower Hill SB store pick,
Some of my prized - rare (and decidedly budget minded) bottles include a McKenna 10yr. and Jefferson's French Bordeaux cask ... and EH T

Liking it and winning a tasting are different things. I like it but it's just bland compared to a lot of other offerings. It has a hard time winning a tasting in the sub 40 range let alone the sub 200 range.

Anyway, had another small share and get together yesterday.

Have similar bottles in my collection. EH Taylor and the bookers usually do well. I didn’t think either were tough to snag. Ive a few bottles that were single run snd quite rare i hold dearly and a couple whistle pig 12 years that are also quite good sub $200.

Blanton's is great... and that's coming from a Scotch guy... no way would I pay the resale prices but for a store price... its one of my favorite bourbons.

Also, just bought the Bulleit Blenders Select... at 100 ABV its an amazing bottle for $55... give it a shot if you haven't.

Blanton's is good
And the John Wick series helped
But
I'm looking for newest underrated bourbons that are attainable...

Blantons is good, not great. If you want Blantons but can't find it, look for Ancient Ancient Ancient Age (yes 3 Ancients). It is pretty much the exact same juice sub $20. You also miss out on a fancy marketing bottle and topper but you can always refill an empty and nobody will be able to tell (I know a few people that do that already).

Good and not quite taken off yet...
Early Times BiB is amazing at sub $25, it sits easily with $40-50 bottles
Elijah Craig BP offerings are way better than the 18 (that is watered down)
Michters American Whiskey is easy to find some places and probably my favorite daily drinker at around $40
If you can find a Knob creek pick from 1+ years ago they were doing 14-15y stuff and it was fantastic for sub $50. The more recent picks are 8-10y and not nearly as good IMO.
Wild Turkey Rare Breed (can find sub $50 around me) and Kentuck Spirit are both ones I keep a backup of.
Old Forrester 1910 and 1920 are both really good as well and usually pretty easy to find ~$50

I should also mention that if you like anything that is MGP sourced you should likely stock up now... MGP just bought LuxCo and will likely just start marketing most of their good stuff themselves going forward. Almost anything that says distilled in Indiana is going to be MGP sourced.
