Fantastic fight card. Highlights for me was Sonnen calling out Silva and the title fights. Edgar has really impressed me, he does not give up!

for all you mma crack heads like me, be sure to check out bellator 53 from this past weekend. superb night of fights as well, i was finally able to catch up and watch it yesterday. They really need to move their events to friday night, competing w/ the UFC is not a smart move

Hindsight after watching the Ken-Flo / Jose fight... ther ewas no way it was split by that much of a margin. I am agreeing with Rogan for one of the few times in my life on close calls, and this fight was a LOT closer than it was called. Agreed he still left it out there and lost accordingly, but not by the blown out of the water judging that was scored.
I digress, more fights? |

Seems like Aldo is playing it safe during his fights and not taking any chances. His last 2 fights have been "boring" compared to his wec fights. Granted the competition is higher, but he's almost too gun shy.
I'll agree the margin wasn't that large. I had it 3 rounds to 2, Aldo

Thats what happens to champs when they start fighting to not lose instead of fighting to get the win.

I would say everyone except Aldo and gsp at the moment.
Cruz Edgar Silva Jones Velasquez They all fight to finish and try not to leave it to the scorecards.

Cruz is far from a finisher, all of his wins are by decision, I dont think he's ever even hurt anyone in his fights. He wins because he lands more strikes than his opponents, due to his super quick hands and outstanding footwork. Edgar is a similar story but I think he does fight to finish, he just doesnt have the power to finish everyone at 155, but he is so technical that if he lands clean, you are likely to go out, like Maynard did
and come on Jose Aldo not a finisher? The only 3 he hasnt finished as of late NEVER get finished. Mark Hominick hasnt been KOed since '03, Faber has only been finished twice in his whole career and Kenny Florian hasnt been finished since TUF finals when he got TKOed by a much bigger Diego Sanchez Lets give Aldo at least another fight before we give him the GSP treatment |

I said fight TO finish, not necessarily ARE a finisher
I'll agree, Aldo is a finisher, but not since he got to the UFC. He's fighting more to win than to finish. I think Cruz always tries to finish his opponents, but doesn't always achieve his goal. Agree or not?

I agree on Cruz, but Aldo did try to finish Hominick but gassed due to being sick before the fight, come on though, Hominick had a small midget on his forehead
Ill give you Aldo not trying to finish Kenny though, at no point in the fight did he look like he was trying to kill him like he normally does, but I still dont think he deserves to get GSP treatment just yet |

Um... You all realy think Silva is fighting for the win ever time, I hardly think so. Wow, what fights did I miss? They all had the point early and fade into the win strategies on them. The last time Silva went at it was on Henderson.

He's had 2 decisions in about 17 or 18 bouts since 2004. That's not bad. He does have the ability to finish almost all fighters whenever he gets bored though.

yea, im very upset at this as well, i was so mad when i read about it last night, i didnt even want to come post. something about this doesnt sit right w/ me, specially the way Firas talked about it, just didnt seem genuine. Hopefully this fight can happen in Jan
also, they should have moved up Cerrone v Siver to the main card, not Jacoby v Tavares |
