Damnit I was expecting the Red Woman to Rape Jon Snow or pass him the Necklace or something.
Bran's visions are nice, I'll def enjoy seeing Ned Stark (even if just a kid)

Episode 3, opening scene features Jon Snow promptly getting up, leaving the room, not acknowledging anyone as he simply says "Where is that little fuck?", directed at no one in particular, and goes on a mission to find and kill Ollie.

This show is beyond EPIC. I mean the time goes by so fast, it feels like it lasts only 30min. I could binge watch this shit for hours on end!
That one Bolton boy is a sick fuk! He is making Geoffrey look like Peter Pan. I can only hope that he gets tortured beyond what he did to Wreak... |

So - In the book, Catelyn Stark (Tully) is resurrected some time after the Red Wedding. This is not a spoiler for the show - apologies for those reading the book and didn't know this yet
It will be interesting to see how/what direction they take Jon Snow's character since his resurrection.... |

The new book is going to have a plot twist that isn't going to be in the show, since HBO has already killed the character involved in it.

Dinklage acted out of his mind during that dragon scene. He's talented, but that was pretty impressive.

I was kind of hoping Arya might some some extended stick therapy, and come away a Jedi Knight.
Side note: 2 kings, one episode. Yikes... Gained one back though, if you count the Lord Commander as a King of sorts. |

For example, in the books, Sansa isn't ever taken back to Winterfell to be Ramsay's wife; an imposter girl is sent by the Lannisters (and she's actually posing as Arya). Sansa is in The Eyrie being poised by Littlefinger to become the Matriarch there before revealing her identity to lay claim to Winterfell also.

I'm a big fan of Arya's storyline. The faceless assassin thing is pretty badass. I was disappointed at how little they explored it in season 5 but if any of you guys watch the commentary after the episode with the writers/creators they go into why season 6 has allowed them to push all the storylines forward at once, unlike previous seasons.
You also have to look at how complicated the books are and how short the seasons of GoT are, 12 episodes isn't really enough to cover all the complexities of the book so they have to do a ton even with a simplified storyline to move things forward in 12 episodes. They needed $500 million and 24 episodes to pull everything off in each book every season. |

I don't think you escape the budget constraints of $200 million, which I think is their season budget, but I agree that you could make each episode double in length, keep it to 12 episodes, and have ample story and entertainment the entire time. Though I would wager fewer people likely to watch a 2 hour long tv episode every week.
