On my 50 mph 20-mile road into town, I frequently pass. I just behave calmly behind the slow-moving obstacle, and as soon as I have a passing lane I gun it and pass. You’d be surprised how fast my highlander can go. The obstacle never sees it coming until s/he is staring at my rapidly disappearing taillights.
Should be even more fun in my new X5. 10 am tomorrow is the magic moment. The highlander really is a great car. Hubby will love it. |

Hey, former Odyssey mom here.
My 2003 Odyssey was by far my favorite car of all time. It was quiet, comfortable even for four adults, and that thing moved. I don’t have a lot of opporTunities to drive fast but that car was no slouch.
When I shopped for a replacement, the brand new Chrysler van was MUCH less refined than the Odyssey. I ended up with the ever-practical Highlander. It’s been a great car, but never terribly exciting. Can’t wait to get my X5 tomorrow. New favorite car for sure, and the first car I’ve ever been excited to get! |

I see this often: People in the left lane just a few feet between each of them. All stacked up behind a slow car in the left lane, but the center lane is clear. People are soooo wrapped up in being in the left lane that they can't see anything else.

Everyday I drive home from work(commute 40 miles) I see this. Freeway should be pretty open but all the lanes are congested(still going about speed limit but super congested) then finally I'll see an opening or two(or three or four) and make my way to the front of the group and past the idiot in the fast lane who is going the same speed as the other two lanes and sitting right beside the cars in the other slower lanes. Well wouldn't you know after you get past the idiots there is a WHOLE OPEN freeway. Like these people are so oblivious that there is no one in front of them, yet for some reason there is a traffic jam behind them and they cant figure out they need to speed up a little bit and move over so the freeway can operate like it should. So frustrating, and it happens practically every day to me.

dont get frustrated with left lane campers guys. these people think they are doing right and believe they own the road...and if challenged will retort "you don't own the road"....its a lost cause

People that get on the highway, and THEN speed up to their desired speed.

People who are in the slower lane to the right, and my lane to the left of them is moving faster...I leave more than enough distance between me and the car ahead, so a guy in the slower lane decides to move over. No problem, IF he accelerates as he changes lanes, but noooooo. He moves over at the slower speed, then after I have to slow rapidly he decides to accelerate.
