What a lineup of cars - the "best" truly depends on the driver and intended street, back-road or track.
Hard to argue against the CSL/GTS treatment of any platform. With some searching an E46/E85/6 or E9X owner can start to build their own. Swapped the S54 CSL exhaust setup into my Z4M and it is a riot! |

However, the point that I was disagreeing with you was regarding the Z not being favorably comparable to the Porsches. The M division has made some wild Z's that I would absolutely take over the Porsche counterparts (come to think of it, I did). |

The GTSs are stupid, imo-- once you get rid of the back seat (for a cage), you might as well buy a dedicated sports car instead of one compromised by being a 4 seater at heart. The GTSs undermine the entire point of M cars to me-- a practical car that's also great to drive. ... but I'd still take a CSL over a CRT. 400 lbs lighter is a huge dynamic difference (and more like 440 lbs lighter after the IMO mandatory 6mt conversion of the CSL)

I like M3 GTS the most because, it has bespoke: Engine, Exaust, Chassis, Brakes, Front Splitter and rear Spoiler, I'm not a big fan of DCT but it's much better then CSL's SMG, it's not the fastest track car in the world or affordable or practical but, if we talking about best M3 ever made, I think M3 GTS/CRT is special and my opinion Best.
