Confess to checking Wallenius Wilhelmsen to see if they have record of my VIN yet. My previous factory orders were shipped by them. Don’t know how far in advance BMW book shipping.

Our vehicle is on a vessel right now... It will arrive at the VPC on the 7th, so should be delivered by next weekend... It was the first dealership allocation and ended up beating the demo vehicle, as that just shipped out this week. Unlike others ours only sat in port for a couple of days and also shipped with no stop sales orders, due to its timing on the assembly line...

Ahh interesting. Yep, I'm still awaiting my assigned carrier (which, is the way I interpret that).

Great choice. I almost went with it, but opted for the blue lagoon instead, and I'm sure there'll be days I wish I hadn't.

Very much appreciate those that are providing detailed updates on status. Just curious if anyone knows approximately how many days it takes to go from "at the port" to "at the dealership?" I know it will vary based on dealership location—I am in Dallas, TX. However, any estimates are greatly appreciated.

Once it is on the ship, how long to get to the US?

Depends on what port your car is to arrive at, info that appears on your build sheet, and the itinerary of the ship your car is on. For me on west coast, it can be 3 weeks if minimal stops, 6 weeks if the ship is doing a milk run.

If you haven't read this thread, it has links to the RORO shippers and their schedules.

You can also call BMW Genius and once the vehicle is loaded on a vessel, they will give you the name of said vessel and you can track its progress. Also if it's WW, you can get the appropriate bill of lading and it will show the VIN on the vessel manifest. Our car arrived in Port NY/NJ on 11/6 and was processed through the VPC and loaded on a transport on 11/10.

Well probably another week now, if you made the train and I didn't. I'm unsure about the timelines here... as it seems some got built after me and then got on the carrier before me.

I'm thinking closer to Jan instead of early December.

Nope. From ship schedules there doesn't appear to be anything leaving Bremerhaven for my destination port until 11/18. But I also don't know if my car is in fact at Bremerhaven vs. Zeebrugge, and the Genius line wasn't able to tell me that.

In some other boards here there are per-build week discussions that have more activity, and I assume once we get to "at port" status we are all in the same boat, so to speak. Cars from build weeks 2 before mine went to In Transit earlier this week, and build week 1 before mine went to In Transit yesterday.

Had another thought about the delays in shipping I read that there is a labour shortage for drivers on and off the RoRo in Germany and throughout Europe at the moment mine was supposed to be delivered to the dealer in the UK 21 Nov then delayed to 28 Nov then today on hold?
