My X1 28i M Sport finally entered production today! Oddly the production date is in early January, when usually it’s only a couple of weeks out once it hits 150 status. I wonder if Regensburg closes over the holidays?
Have any East Coast orders gotten on a ship yet? Last edited by mktrn; 11-28-2023 at 03:27 PM.. |

I have not heard of any November production X1s leaving port for the East Coast. A few have departed for West Coast locations (historically it's the opposite from what I've seen). I've been at port over 3 weeks and there was a few X1s ahead of me. Some other forums are reporting port wait times of 4-5 weeks for East Coast ports. The next few ships to Brunswick at least are not scheduled until next week so fingers crossed. 3 Dec - 20 Dec: Taipan 5 Dec - 21 Dec: Brooklands (Kline) 6 Dec - 25 Dec: Tannhauser 8 Dec - 26 Dec: Traviata

Thanks! Yeah, assume they must get a week or two off! But who really knows unless it’s publicized.
Seems like the port is backed up with vehicles bound for the East Coast. I’ve read some threads where folks went from “At the port” to “At the dealership”, but not sure how common that is. Fingers crossed you’ll get on one of the ships next week! |

Mine flipped to "In Transit" today (4 weeks to the day after showing "at Port") so assuming it's heading to Brunswick it may be on the Taipan that departed earlier today (although that is a quicker update than the typical 2-3 days reported in the forums). Will reach out to Genius or the CA to verify.
Update: I called Genius and the vehicle is supposed to be on the Apollon Highway (Kline) that departed 9 days ago on 25 Nov and originally scheduled into Brunswick on 12 Dec. According to vesselfinder, it may be running a few days late so probably won't get to Brunswick until around Dec 16th. So, sounds like the online system doesn't keep track very well.

Since some other X1s were previously reported as shipping out of Zeebrugge, I'm wondering if mine was also shipped out of Zeebrugge versus Bremerhaven. That would explain the date that it flipped to In Transit (departed Zeebrugge on December 1st versus departing Bremerhaven on November 25th) and flipped to In Transit on December 4th.

In case it helps anyone in a similar boat, my X1 28i M Sport that was scheduled for Week 2 (January) production, went into production last week and reached “In the paint booth” (152) status, but now appears to be held there. I was hoping it would keep moving through the assembly line and be dispatched before they close for the break, but looks like it won’t be possible.
I’ve seen a few cases on Bimmerpost where other folks were paused on the paint booth step in December and then quickly finished in January after the break, so it’s not uncommon. I also noticed the M Sport option now shows “limited availability” on the configurator, so perhaps there’s some shortages. Anyway, hope y’all enjoy the holidays and look forward to seeing some deliveries on here soon ![]() Last edited by mktrn; 12-19-2023 at 12:44 AM.. |

Our X1 almost made it for Xmas but looks like it will be in the New Year.
The vessel with our vehicle arrived in Brunswick last night (12/19). Some others have reported that the status changed back to "In Port" on arrival at the destination port. The status hasn't changed from "In Transit" so I assume the next step will be transport to the dealership. For those still waiting for the MY24 28i, here's how my timeline ended up from factory to destination port. The unknown wildcards appear to be the time sitting at the European port and which ship is assigned. 10/11: Order received 10/11: Production scheduled 10/16: Production begins 10/30: Exterior assembly begins 10/31: Paint booth 11/02: Entering assembly line 11/02: Assembly in progress 11/02: Quality check 11/03: Final assembly 11/03: Ready for transport 11/03: Awaiting carrier assignment 11/03: Dispatched from factory 11/06: At the port (Zeebrugge) 12/04: In Transit (departed Zeebrugge December 1st on Apollon Highway). 12/20: Switched to "At Port" (vessel arrived Brunswick night of 12/19) 12/29: In Transit to Dealership 12/29: At Dealership If you're still expecting MY24 delivery, here's a link with some tips for pre-delivery and day of pickup from the dealership. https://u11.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...6&postcount=35

FWIW, I picked up my X1 today. It was a close match to our needs. We got it re routed from another dealer.
After seeing it for the first time today, I almost decided to build a car exactly as I wanted (there's one thing we wanted but isn't on the rerouted x1). After we did the build, and fed it into the que, it showed a March production date. Didn't want to wait till May so we took the one on the floor. After a couple hours in it today it's a fantastic vehicle! Really nice |

Mine arrived at Port Humane (CA) on December 15th, and the status changed to At Port. Today the status changed back to In Transit, so I assume its on its way to Phoenix.

Picked up my 2024 x1 28i today. Production date November 2nd. IDrive 9 version 11/2023.25. I ordered the lumbar seats but was surprised to find that they were in fact messaging seats. Love the car so far. Haven’t had time to go through all the options and settings yet. The auto start/stop feature can be easily deactivated each time the car is started.

Congrats. Mine finally arrived at the dealer today. Unfortunately, due to travel, I won't be able to pickup until mid January. At least no more legs to travel.

Interesting. The vehicle I ordered showed up on the dealer's web page the day after it arrived as new inventory "in-stock" with a "get your E-price" button. I won't be picking up until Jan 7th at the earliest so I assume that's normal for them in case I decide not to go through with the deal.
The only difference between that listing and the other newly arrived X1 vehicles is that only a single photo of the exterior is shown (no photos of the interior).
