1998 VW Beetle.. It was the very first year it was released. My sister HAD TO HAVE IT!!! She got the base model with absolutely no options. Out the door I think the car cost less than $200 a month on a lease. All i remember is turning 17 and my sister's car was like 2 years old and she was off to college and this was what my driving future looked like. An electric blue half moon. It still holds the record in my book 0-60. It's steering was so loose that it would require nearly a full turn on the steering wheel to change lanes. What was most suprising in the lil' blue deathtrap, was how shit just fell off the car with no warning. There was an glasses holder near the light above the center console, that once (for no good reason) just fell out of its holder and hit me square in the nose. I walked into school with a cut on my nose and dried blood on my shirt. It was guaranteed to be in the shop once a month for electrical issues. The car ended up being returned with 20k miles in 3 years. Half the miles put on the car were to and from the dealership.. that was 50 miles away. NO ONE wanted to drive the car. I was 17 years old with access to a car and I would beg my friends to pick me up. |

I had a Ford Flex for a rental and it was awful. I know it's a crossover but you would think it would be more comfortable than a truck. Nope, it's a harsh ride and not comfortable at all. The seats were very hard and had very little adjustment.

The rental car we ended up with on our trip in the dominican republic. I beat this car like a red-headed step-child.

Chevy Aveo, closely followed by a Caliber, and then the Vibe. All 3 were rentals. All 3 gave me some of the worst dislike for driving I've ever experienced in my life.

Barely goes up the mountains in Portugal. Sometimes I think I might have to go behind and push it. Thank god I've only driven it once and have my parents Mitsubishi Pajero (which isn't that great either) to rely on. |
