Great to see Red Bull break through.
I was getting a bit sick of the broadcasters obsessing with Mercedes' so-called "Perfect Season"... I mean, we're only seven races into the 19-race season, guys...

Just a thought - but if Nico and Lewis had team orders to not change positions during the first chicane - Mercedes might have had a win.
But am glad they're allowed to fight it out frm the green. Massa/Perez - the in camera footage - I understand what Massa was thinking. The speed difference has me thinking Perez lifted and slight moved left, that was just a crap ending to a great ride. |

Chilton's streak of finishing every race is officially over. He's no longer the safest driver in F1

Disappointing!
The local NBC cut off the Canadian GP, and went to severe storm and tornado warning footage for entire 2/3 of the race. Last footage I've seen was Nico locking brake and gained 0.4sec going straight. |

Despite this, they're both out of the Sacre Coeur hospital already. Here's Massa giving thumbs up

Huge congrats to DR, he's not only a fast guy but I also like his attitude this far. Let's hope he keep it as he continues to do well. Crap that was scary with Massa. He is the other crash machine next to Maldonado but I like Massa and felt terrible for him at his last huge crash and how it kind of changed him to lose what little edge he had. Very, very good to see he is ok, that was a hard smack. At least he got to pass Alonso fair and square Last edited by solstice; 06-08-2014 at 06:32 PM.. |

Lewis Hamilton
We win and lose together #TeamLH Canada Grand Prix, Race Day I did the best that I could out there today and felt like I was having a strong race but unfortunately it just wasn't our day. Montreal has been a good track for me so to come here and not finish is disappointing but there are plenty more races ahead of us this season so let's hope for better fortune. There was nothing I could do about our issues really. We were managing the loss of power but as soon as I finally made the jump on Nico in the second pit stop, my brakes failed going into turn 10. It's great for the team that Nico was able to hold on and get second place today but it's tough for me. That's two DNFs now this season and now I have to try and recover the points gap again. But these are learning experiences: we'll learn as a team and get stronger. Congratulations to Daniel today. It's awesome for him to get his first win and I know this will be a really special day for him.* |

He lost the corner under pressure and delibrately took the escape route and gunned the throttle, gaining more than half a second. How is that NOT gaining an advantage? To me is a clear cut sporting infraction. Nico lost the corner, he should simply lift the throttle when he was off track. If it was gravel, he would crash already! Paved escape zones are not for him to put full power there. It was designed to give a the ones who made a mistake a second chance, but the driver must lose some sort of advantage.
