Jerry Jones thinks that he is capable of being Owner, GM and HC but his history is quite the opposite. Jimmy Johnson was a brilliant HC and he was a Master at working with the personalities and egos of his coaches and players. Jones did not give Johnson his due and it poisoned the relationship. I loved seeing the Cowboys self destruct and Hones has certainly set the tone both on the field and off.

Watson is intriguing.

The Cowboys have a "porous, aging, penalty laden O Line".
As GM, I'm focused on that First. I'm also looking to trade or cut some starters from multiple positions. I'm also hiring Brian Flores and firing Kellen Moore.

Rodgers faked a spike against the Dolphins in 2014…threw to Adams who got 12 yards and got out of bounds, then threw a TD on the next play.

I do give him credit for being a great businessman and building a first class stadium but he lost his way by not surrounding himself w great football people. Full disclosure I am a Giant fan so his franchise is in better shape then mine at the moment

Packer fans have been spoiled with QB greatness for the past 30 years. But you never know with Rodgers as he is a diva just Kyrie, though you would think that someone as great as Rodgers wouldn’t lose so many home playoff games and the 49’ers aren’t a slouch. However, if they can get passed them, I don’t see the Bucs doing it again at GB, nor the Rams.

All it takes is the right regime to turn a clown franchise like the Giants back to respectability. But for the love of GOD I do not want Dan Quinn as the Giants HC. Give me Flores or Daboll but enough with hiring Cowboy coordinators for the Giants. While you’re right that Jerry World will do anything for that franchise, they have been a playoff disaster of a team for the past 1/4 century. Think about this for a minute; The NY Jets have more playoff wins in that timeframe than the Cowboys.

Titans have this chip on their shoulder that nobody gives them respect, that they’re lucky to get the #1 seed. They can think all that but don’t sleep on the Bengals. While I wouldn’t be shocked if the Bengals won, my heart tells me the Titans will win even though I’ll pull for Burrow.

Rams at Tompa, how does Brady lose this game? Again, I’ll root for the underdog Rams and would like to see Stafford advance but Brady will find a way to wind up in GB.

Speaking of GB, 49’ers coming off an emotional win at Dallas but this Packers team has way better players and obviously are better coached. Jimmy G will be playing out of his comfort zone by thinking he’ll have to keep up with Rodgers to win this game and might make mistakes. My ol’ man became a Packers fan the moment he arrived to Miami from Peru back in 1958, so because of him, I’ll root for them here.

Bills at Chiefs. Something is off with KC. They faced a team such as the Steelers and let’s be honest, they (along with the Eagles), weren’t playoff material teams to begin with. Their D will give up big plays but they have Mahomes who’s better than JA. Still, I can see this game going down to the wire. I’ll say the Bills win this game.

I would not characterize the Giants as a clown franchise after 4 super bowl wins but they have been atrociuous the last tem years. John Mara is a chip off the old block not understanding you need to surround yourself with great minds and not be to loyal to those that have failed the franchise. I think he finally gets it. The Giants didnt turn around until Wellington hired George young at the urging of the NFL commiss. Six years later they were super bowl champs. I am hopeful for another big turnaround. GMEN!!!!!!

Overall as a franchise, they’re historical, however as you said, the past ten years have been terrible but especially the last five seasons they acted like clowns. Now, with this new GM hire, it gives them instant credibility that they haven’t had since the Coughlin days. However, since the ‘retirement’ of Gettleman, I’ll have to check up on shoei as Gettleman is his favorite person

He was the best candidate IMHO. Now I hope he envisions what I’m envisioning:

Draft OL with the 5/7th picks
Draft a QB in the 2nd round
Draft defense in the later rounds

Get rid of Barkley
Get rid of WR’s Slayton and Galladay (ridiculous contract)
Let Butterfingers Engram walk


Daniel Jones:

Even before the neck injury, Jones has underachieved. He has the arm and can run but he’s too inconsistent and injury prone. Therefore, they need to bring in two (2) more QB’s. Mike Glennon and Jake Fromm never had the makings of being varsity athletes as those two aren’t NFL quarterbacks. Someone who will compete with Jones via trade (Matt Ryan/Jimmy G) or make cap room and sign a serviceable backup suck as Ryan FitzMagic. The 2nd QB will have to be via the draft and even though this coming class isn’t that great, either of them will be better than Glennon/Fromm.

It makes no sense to trade 87 draft picks for Deshaun Watson or Russell Wilson as the Giants need draft capital for their major weakness: OL.

His 5th yr option is IIRC $22M so unless he lights it up (if he gets a chance), he’ll walk. Barkley doesn’t like to get hit and plays it safe so I’ll take a 7th rounder for him. Eagles/Washington/Giants are all QB hunting and eventually they’ll all get their guy while Dallas will be stuck with an average QB getting paid like a great QB. Eagles have 3 first rounders to throw at the Texans/Seattle for DW or RW.

Bengals are blowing opportunities in this game.
